ok, usually, i'm not too fond of copying weapons from movies or games... but i must say, i'm growing quite fond of the suppressed silver 1911 (i wanna say Kimber... or Wilson... but it's been a while since i saw it so i'm not too sure which...) that John uses when he sneaks back into his house

now tell me, is it possible to get a suppressor onto an airsoft 1911? preferably WA.

Just to butt because I love that film so much; does anyone else get the urge to make a full Mr.&Mrs. Smith loadout?

I'm ordering a benelli M3 and a UMP later on today, and I have a keening for a pair of G18c's with silver slides...

Already got a Mossberg M500 shorty too, dunno if that's the right one as it looked a bit more like a remington 870 shorty in the film, but it's good enough for me.

Very interested in which exact 1911 he has there of course, I'll try and get some decent screengrabs tonight if I can....

It does a bit doesn't it.....

It's got the foreward hatching on the slide and looks generically similar to the wilson/kimber/springfield custom 1911's out there, pity you can't see the grip at any point.....screengrabs tonight folks, see what I can come up with.

Won't be able to edit 'em properly until Monday as I don't have Photoshop at home, but hey.

For Mr. & Mrs. Smith: It's not a beretta, there's no cut in the slide exposing the barrel that is so typical of a Beretta.

It is also not a S&W 1911, S&W uses different sights than a normal colt 1911. Usually they use Novak or Bomar adjustable sights

Look at the rear sights on the gun. They look like standard government model sights

Compare to S&W's catalog

http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/sto..._category=15708

Kimber and Wilson usually also use Novak, Bomar or in Kimber's case enlarged Patridge sights. That extend to the rear of the gun

If you want my opinion to get to the closest to the movie look... Go for a WA U.S. M1911A1 Transition Model S.C.W., A Early MEU Pistol, or a Wild Heart Colt...they've got the classic Government Model look to them.

If not...get whatever 1911 you please...that means no Hi-Capas, STI Eagles or Infinities ( Those are 2011 frames, not 1911). I would suggest however getting a gun with Novak Sights, they just make more sense than Bomar if your fitting silencers to guns.

:D I always think of that show when someone mis-spells it, glad I've never seen an episode myself of cousre but then Sledge is getting on a bit so he should know :P (only 4 years behind you myself actually dude...)

I know I'm meant to have got screengrabs for this thread but I got roped into a free party on Sat night and it turned out to be kick-*albatross* and I was still dancing at 9am, so I didn't have much free time this weekend

I will get on the case when I get home tomorrow, I know there's a good few shots just as John's threading the silencer on where the whole side of the gun is lit very well and you can pick out fine detail on the slide.

Just call me a genius ;) Shots grabbed from a recording of some kind from the US DVD release, lost a lot of detail in the transition unfortunately, but hey, it's better than nothing.

Some images displayed, but I got 26 of the beggars so all the rest are linkified!

That should help ya somewhat, the engraving on the slide might be possible to distinguish based on the shape and impression of the words, unfortunately the fine detail is lost as this isn't a massively hi-res version.
