I just got a Silver SVI 5.0 Limited HW, the kind with the greyish-silver/nickel finish. I'm trying to find a metal slide for it, does anyone know if there are any that are the same color and finish? If not, what kind of black slide would look good with it?

Thanks!

I though that I might as well post a few pictures of my new Hi-Capa project. I just got this gun off e-bay and so far it is upgraded with the following:

  • Shooters Design Infinity Slide (5 inch)

  • Guarder Metal Barrel
  • Guarder 150% Hammer Spring
  • Guarder 150% Recoil Spring
  • Guarder Enhanced Loading Nozzle
  • Guarder High Flow Valve(s)

  • Nine Ball Dyna Piston Head
  • Nine Ball 6.03mm Tightbore (112mm)
  • Nine Ball Air Seal Chamber Packing

My plan for this gun is to build it up into something that I can use as a primary in skirmishes. I already have a PDI 6.01 7 inch barrel and a G&G SS-100 to cover it but I still need to get a PDI adapter for the suppressor. Next Hong Kong order I am thinking that I'll pick up some Blue SD grips (since I hate stock Hi-Capa grips) as well as a mag well and an extended slide catch.

I am new to Hi-Capa's so if anyone has any suggestions/comments I would be happy to hear them...

This is my Hi-Capa, there are many like it but this one is mine. Also I just finished building it today.

The lighting isn't that great in these pics, but I could always touch them up in photoshop.

This gun is made almost entirely of aftermarket parts, save for some internals.

The breakdown of those parts is as follows:

Slide, Barrel and Chamber: Shooter's Design Springfield V12

Inner Barrel: PDI 7 Inch 6.01 tightbore

Hop Up Rubber: Nineball Air seal packing(the purple one)

Loading Nozzle reinforced by Guarder

Nineball dyna-piston inside loading nozzle

Trigger: PDI 3 hole

Hammer: PDI ring hammer(modified)

Magazine Valve: Tanio Koba High-flow

BB in hammer spring compartment

Freedom Art G-MT frame with comp block(note the scope mount is not attached)

Tanio Koba One-touch joint hider with short compensator(this one was pretty hard to get, but covers up the inner barrel mostly)

Optics: Burris Fastfire mounted to Shooter's Design Sightbase(very hard to find a retailer with these in stock)

Grip: Tanio Koba Finger-fits tactical grip

This gun sounds like a cannon, is very accurate at moderate distances. Haven't cronographed it yet, but the muzzle velocity might be too high to discuss here.

I went back and forth through dentrinity, redwolf, UNcompany, wgc, power edge and tokyo model for about 7 or 8 months for the parts, and I searched countless online optics retailers for about 3 months before I finally got the fastfire sight. The case shown above is a laylax satellite designed for the hi-capa, but modified to fit the extended barrel and optics. I intend to try a hakko mkII or moiji zero multi-reticle sight on this gun in the future.

Any comments or critiques welcome.

Looks ace mate though I'd personally not of combined the freedom art comp frame with the tk comp, and used a shorter ib instead. I like the optics, how much was the Burris?

I used a 7 inch because I wanted the range and power, but I can see what you mean. The burris fastfire is about $200 at midwayusa where I got mine.

Wow. Thats really come a long way. Really doesn't look anything like the original.

I think that a black mag well would look awesome as well as being pretty unique but thats just my two cents.

r1ckard - how is the quality on that TK Les Bear slide?  I slept on one a few months ago, but now i kind of want to check one out.  Where did you get it?

Got it from Guns N Guys a while ago. First off, it is not metal. It's a high quality plastic and I have no problem running it on green. It looks nice and performs well, what more could I ask for? :D

i hate to say it ocelot, but i prefer the orignial grips. blue makes it look to much like its built out of lego or something, it would look so much more menacing and cool if it didnt have grips the colour of a pre-school toy.

plus the old grips give it a real sleek race-gun look IMO

I really think that grip colors end up being a matter of taste. I, for one, love the blue grips so much that I am getting one for my personal Hi-Capa project. Long live crazy colors on awesome guns.

Also, Vicious is right, a black mag well would be really hot with that whole color scheme.

Funny thing, I think the black grips are better as well, but as soon as I put them on, I wish I had the blue ones. There's something about owing a 480 fps chunk of Lego that makes me happy.
