Interesting, I'm surprised they continued. They changed quite a bit from Ver2.

Anyone care to tell me the advantage of this gearbox from the one currently found in the CA 249's? Other than being milled from better metal....

From the photo, the spring can be released by two different button, and the chamber-feeding-gearbox structure seems to be improved.
But I guess it's not a major concerns for someone who is using CA 249. 
Of course, I need that gearbox for my TOP MK1!
