Evike doesn't know what the hell its talking about. They're worse than Jungletoy when it comes to product desciptions.

Doesn't sound that far fetched to me, actually.
I have the current UTG and its an excellent value (I use it for my dedicated CQB weapon)...seems like they are starting to do a bit more quality control and are cloning the metal TM mags...

It's easy to sell things cheap when using chinese manufacturing, and now that they have been at it for a few months, they are starting to get a feel for the market.

2 or 3 years from now, CYMA, Well/UTG/Leapers, and SRC could be major players in the american and european airsoft market

edit: although you guys are right about the source...

Well, even if it *is* a UTG, why does it reply to itself in third-person rather then noting how it got better?

ie.Advantage of this over the UTG MP5 is that it shoots consistently at average 40 FPS higher than the UTG, the power is exactly like the Tokyo Marui one.

eh???

Sorry, I'm not following your point at all.

EDIT:
My understanding is that matrix is evike's private lable, so perhaps this is just a new model UTG which they have upgraded in house? If that is the case, they must be getting a sweet deal on the base guns, and mags to be able to sell them for $100.00.

It's talking about their Matrix guns. They only compare it to the UTG one in the description. Why they call it the UTG ver. 4 I have no idea though.

"it gets 40 more FPS consistently then the UTG"

just so ya know, the Version 3 UTG MP5 that airsoftgi.com is selling gets just as much FPS as the one in that add.

I know some of you evolutionists/atheists will mock me for this sig, but I don't really care:

Actually Evike is right, when I went to the store he just got a shipment and he chrnoed at 285 (highest I saw), everyone was so suprised. The UTG MP5 usually shoots at 260 due to major air leaking..

Strange, the package says it even comes with a red dot sight!

well the thought of what "red dot scope" it probably comes with sends chills down my spine. So essentially, it comes with a cheap plastic thing to shoot at?

As of now the latest Version is 3.0. Changes are primarily within the gearbox and improve over all mechanical operation. The claw mount has also been updated for easy installation. The gun is now packaged with 1x 150rd magazine and 1x 500rd instead of the pervious 2x 150rd. There has been no increase in FPS, distance or accuracy. All specs remain the same. UTG is impressing me more and more. They have an excellent product and are working very hard at constantly improving it. However V4.0 is still ways away.

I just got a crate of the M-5's in. I don't think they are UTG as they seem to have a V3 gearbox that is only accesable by removeing the lower reciever then removing 3 body screws and prying the upper reciever in half. I do know that they are shooting 268-275FPS. They also have a ROF of about 14 RPS with a 9.6 mini battery.

Oh, and BTW Marui mags won't fit without a little filing.

Well the utg (leapers) supposedly has excellent customer service/support.
You can get replacement gears for your utg if they strip for like $10.
With the matrix stuff...it'll cost ya if some gears strip or something goes wrong. I'll probably get this though, the metal magazines sealed the deal wink.gif

Well sorry for the double post but...
How do the m-5's feel and what is their finish like Rapier?
Like is it thick, sturdy plastic with no creaking?
Any problems with them so far?
I'm thinking about getting one
