hey people, i've been informed by my team DS that out site outside of crewe will be open for a one-time experiment. a free event. this will be a milsim (but without ammo limits) and will run from the friday afternoon to the sunday afternoon.
the available space is around 70 acres on our primary site, and around 160 on a secondary site donated by a neighbouring farmer.

how is it free? mostly through the genarosity of the land owner unused feilds and woodland have been made available to us for a couple of years as a training site. but we feel we can make it alot more.

whats the catch? i won't beat around the bush. this will be an operation conducted in the bondue. if you don't like tents, propane cooked food and ###### in a hole in the ground, don't come. if however you DO like the idea od spending a couple of days living the frontier lifestyle of the infantryman, come along.

who do i need? tent, sleeping bag, changes of skivvies, FOOD, ammo, batteries, weapons, pyro. we can't sell anything on the site, the best we can do is give you free drinking water, tea and cofee facilities and a place to pitch your tent.

when? 7th, 8th and 9th april. starting at 1600 hours and ending at 1500-1600 hours

where? Bulkley, Moss Farm. the RV point (where you will meet up) would be morrisons carpark in crewe and escort would be given to site.

how many? spaces are limited to around 30. if you have the gear, come along! we can park up around 14 cars on site and its secure ( its overlooked by the farmouse and of course, farm dogs smile.gif )

milsim, whazzat? you will play CONSTANTLY from ex on to ex off. if you want sleep, go back to your tent, zip it up, and get your head down for a while (its tried and tested that even some of the most obscene support weapons won't pass through tents due to the fact the fabric flexes under inpact) however, expect to be fragged and/or gassed in your sleep.
IF any member of the DS deems that you appear sleep deprived, it will be reccomended to you in very frank terms that you get some sleep. drowsy wandering and weapons don't mix well.
(i reccomend three hours sleep and a big mug of hot coffee)
There will be a primary and secondary operational objective for each team, these will be revealed on site as part of your briefing.
Each team will have available to them an advisory team of local special forces (part of the DS) who will not only act as guides and active combattants but will also be player marshalling. this allows games to run smoothly without the 'neon ghosts' that mar more realism-based events.

and that about it. a free event out of the box.

any questions, put a message on here or PM me (my hotmail adress receives 'em, lovely technology)

ah my bad. max aeg fps is set at 340/350. this is only negotiable for spring operated sniper rifles.

if and when you get in close, discretion and semi auto or pistols should be used.

the mission will be based around the procurement and safe extraction of a cannister of substance x (it glows in the dark!) and thats as much as i can let on.

Going from memory (Ingo will be able to confirm/deny this) the maximum for bolt actions is liable to be around 400fps. But as Ingo said, this is negoitable only for springers. There will also liable to be a minimum engagement limit in force for high FPS weapons.

I think it's possible that battery charging will be available on site (we have done it before). I would advise taking sufficient batteries for a weekend of skirmishing.

Ray

Edit: amended fps limits to match Ingo.

no ammo limit. fps limits as stated above with the following amendment :

bolt action limit can be as high as 450fps provided that ammunition is no greater weight than .25 and of no foreign matereal. no teflon, no aluminium, no lead.

conduct rules: NO physical contact, no drinking, no abusive behaviour.
if you need to be reminded, don't turn up.

hit rules: any part of the body, one hit, you're a man down.

medic rules: every man is issued one white bandage. when hit once, you hit the deck and shout for assistance, any member of your team can come to you, take your bandage and tie it onto any of your limbs. you're back in the fight. if you get hit again, the team assigned medic will come to you and tie a red bandage on you. if you are hit again, you're dead. you will be out of the game, you return to your CP (base) and wait a few minutes. you then re-arm and re-deploy. (don't forget to give your red bandage back at some point, and don't loose your white bandage)
depending on numbers of players, there may be a 'bleedout' rule whereupon if you are not reached within ten minutes of being hit, you call out 'dead man walking' and proceed back to your cp. re-org re arm and return to battle.

and yes, if though by 'bring' you mean covering me in da-glo paint you'll have to catch me first boss wink.gif

Sorry im a bit confused.

The chrono can read 450fps when chronoing with a .25?

i use .3 / .36

but i chrono with .2
the fps i can choose from are:
350ish
370ish
453 ish
550 ish

those are with a .2 though. so if i were to use the 550ish spring with a .25 bb lets say it took it down to 450 (i doubt) that would be acceptable?

sorry if ive just misread what you wrote.

we also know bout min eng distance we have them at our local site regarding sniping and thus have pistols / aegs for backup.

Weasel, you could come. its for the whole weekend, go down on the friday midday, would be a good laugh. u can watch my tent while i sleep tongue.gif

all it means is the weapon has to make 450 average over the chrony putting out .25 rounds, this is to cover our backs as the DS incase someone chronys with something retarded like .4 and decides to 'accidentally' pitch in a mag of .25s in the same weapon.

i hope that makes more sense.

with the AEGs its the operators choice between .2 and .25, whichever works best.

looking forward to seeing you there. spent a half hour on irc trying to convince screaming to come. if its worth a three hour drive for gulf romeo to drive down from middlesbrough, i don't think you will be dissapointed.
