Looks like Tanaka´s expanding their "western" series and releasing a Remington M1858 lookalike black powder style gas revolver. When I first saw this, I thought it was an another PFC/model gun, but words "gas/cancer gun" and "Pegasus" in translation would suggest it´s indeed an airsoft version!

Check out First Factory What´s new section (scroll down):
http://www.first-jp.com/news/index.html

And a full-yet-clumsy-as-always translation from Altavista Babelfish:

コラボ gas cancer/gun of dream! * The Hartford < New model army gas cancer/gun > In Pegasus revolver percussion type first release! Real by the fact that the Pegasus system is loaded onto the Hartford of established reputation with making included, it can enjoy actual gun similar action! The number and loading system of cartridges adhering, with only 6 departure opening the loading gate, the gimmick which it does. When 3 types are done release consecutively, as soon as with thing, details to be recognized, in publication schedule it does! < Percussion conversion cartridge cylinder > Total 3 model release schedule February sale schedule manufacturer desired price undecided FIRST ON WEB reservation special price undecided After as for purchase reservation desired one from link on the page "the new product, concerning the purchase reservation of the new arrival commodity" you reading, please push the button the right.

Personally, I´ve yet to own a Tanaka gun which could shoot straight for 5 metres, but if they release a version with something like Midnight Blue finish, I might consider buying one. Just to fill the cowboy section in my gun cabinet a bit more...

Ah, well, there's some more interesting stuff on that page, the KSC 1911 and SIG, and the silver Marushin Automag GBB.

Yes, if it was only a Colt 1860...

While I truely hope this is a gas gun; it was listed in the PFC section of my Guns 2005 Catalogue.

Guys, it does say Gas gun. It is modeled after the PCC, but uses the Pegasus gas system. It also reads that the gun hold six rounds only and operates as a real gun inclduing the loading gimmicks. It says on the bottom that more information is to be released later when they have enough information. They also said they might be planning three versions. And, it's by Hartford using a Pegasus system, it doesn't say Tanaka as the manufacturer.

By the way Sledge, did you see the Tanaka M500 Performance Center 6.5? It's quite of a 6-shooter as well!

It's really interesting to see a collaboration between Tanaka and Hartford to make airsoft guns out of model guns. It somewhat explains why some of the new Hartford guns are becoming an airsoft gun rather than a PFC model gun. Perhaps we can expect other 5-6 shooters as the Webleys and Enfeilds.

That's not a percusion gun, someone above mentioned cartridges and also note the loading gate. It's a Cartridge Converted Remington Percussion Revolver. This was a common practice in the 1870's IIRC for people who could not afford a new fangled cartridge gun.

The Colt's Clint carried in the Outlaw Josey Wales where converted in this manor IIRC.
Back home again.

Can someone please explain what the word cancer has to do with airsoft? Maybe all the little BBs hitting your skin scramble your DNA and mutate your cells into cancerous goo?

El Hombre,

When using Babelfish to translate some Japanese words in this case the word "gun", Babelfish cannot distinguish the Japanese word "GAN" as in "Gun" and "GAN" as an "CANCER". Both words in Japanese are pronouced the same, but they have different meanings. So Babelfish says "Guns" as "Gun/Cancer".

Fantastic! Man, I've been in such a Western kick lately, and what with the new removable cylinder SAAs and M1887 being released, I was hoping we'd see some more new Western style guns.

The funny thing is, you'd think we'd have seen a lot more given the popularity of Cowboy Action Shooting in Japan.
