BadMunkey
Hi All, Oh and Happy new year Ok I'm just about to get a nice new Classic Army M15A4 SPC and wondering which batteries to buy for it? I know at WGC it reads After cutting or removing a slice inside the stock, it can use 10.8V Large type battery But is it a good idea to use a 10.8 over a 9.6? I'm just concerned about it busting up the internals too soon Any help appreciated Thanks in advance
R22Master
Not a great idea in a stock gun. Not a particularly wonderful idea in an upgraded one really. 9.6v will keep your gun working longer. As you increase the voltage, you increase the probability of massive failure if there is a stoppage, and increase wear on your gears and motor. The real question is "Why do you want 10.8v?". This voltage will seriously increase your rate of fire, meaning more mechbox stress, and more ammo used during skirmishing. It could get quite expensive with repairs and increased ammo consumption. 9.6v will still give you a great ROF, and won't be as bad for your gun.
BadMunkey
Cheers Master, 9.6 it is. ..but out of curiosity.. what kinda upgrade would I need to run the rifle on a 10.8v?
Recombinant
for an AEG to need to run on a 10.8v battery you would be looking at an upgrade of 400fps upwards, so theres no real need to have a 10.8v battery on any AEG within the UK limits
