Not sure how old this is, a quick scan over the news section didn't show anything

http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?i...M1911A1T_srch_1 $104 a bit cheaper than the KSC version at $130.

Cheeky mofos are using the same pics for both dry.gif

Also available at Redwolf, http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/Home

Edit: my bad calling it KWA :/

The Taiwan version is not KWA, its just tuned for green gas and intended for export
All KSC pistols go through 1 more quality check than KWA ones do, but they are produced in the same place. These Taiwan versions come in the KSC box

theyre made in the same place, the JP version is intended for sale in Japan, and costs more.. The TW version is still KSC, but is cheaper because it's export.

I always buy the Taiwan version, and the quality is always top-notch.

honestly thought that "Taiwan Version" just meant it was KWA - anyway original post amended.

I've bought KWA stuff in the past and it's arrived in a KWA box with a KSC manual etc.

oh dear, the old KWA/KSC debate- hands a bit sore, so I won't type for long...

Ok, KSC produce fully trademarked guns, normally described as "japan versions" - owing to Japan's less strict rules on TMs, this makes sense. These are normally KSCs most expensive offerings

KSC also produce guns for export, these frequently lack the full trades of their japan counterparts, but are still marketed, at least in HK and japan, as being KSC.

KWA, I suspect, are KSCs export-for-sale models- retailers buy these in (frequently with metal slides and all that jazz, but often without trades blame the US for this, if you like), so as not to get too many customs-types upset- and sell them on to local consumers, for eg, me.

As far as QC is concerned, I honestly do not know if the Japanese versions receive more TLC than their taiwanese or KWA counterparts (they're all, I believe, made in the same factory by the same people), and frankly, given the performance of the KWA guns out of the box, I don't think its that important.

at least, thats what I think is going on...probably wrong smile.gif

Done some digging and it looks like I was initially right wink.gif KWA/KSC are apparently made in the same factory - the Japanese versions are typically labelled KSC while the KWA are the Taiwanese exports.

FarEast explains: http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/inde...ndpost&p=847280

It seems Redwolf and WGC are keen to keep the KSC naming for both sets. Which kinda makes sense as most people see KSC as the "higher quality" version. People also tend to associate the lack of trademarks with lower quality, for some reason.

Edit:
oh yeah; KSC puts some trademarks on their guns that are only legal in Japan. KWA branded guns are usually tailored to specific regions;

This would go a long way to explain a few things: like on KWA glocks in the US there's no trigger safety, why UK KWA models have more trademarks than US ones and why Hong Kong "Taiwan Versions" don't tend to come with metal slides.

Anyway enough KWA/KSC banted.... ohhh 1911, pretty etc.... tongue.gif

if you are sooooo wanting metal on it, save another 200Us for the metal kits for it too, or just wait till the 'KWA' tongue.gif release happens in the States, which may well have it with a non-marked metal slide.
Kiwis are boring.

Too poor to get even a Rent-a-Sig... or is that too cheap?

Alot of people have stated the following, wich makes the most sense IMHO:

KSC makes a japanese version and an export (taiwanese) version.

KWA is a different company wich copies KSC designs (they've copied other companies designs aswell, there were like 1 or 2 models wich KSC has never made wich KWA sells, can't remember wich one)

KWA has probably just made their own molds of KSC parts, just like KJ does with TM.

It's possible KWA is licensed to produce copies of KSC designs, not sure.

KSC and KWA are the same, they're made in the same factory as well.
