so, you pay £50 to pre order it without knowing what the final price will be? seems a bit bonkers

Nope, you have a good relationship with your dealer, he accepts the fact that you want one 'cause hes your dealer and you always buy from him, you pay no money and most importantly; You ask him "HOW MUCH"? then you go and pick it up when it gets in. Its called "talking to people".
Simple really and not at all bonkers. wink.gif

Don't forget; ask "how much"?

Nah it's £50, this is the entire wording on the page for it:
QUOTE
PRE-ORDER ONLY PRICE! £50.00
The first Tokyo Marui AEG to have a mechanical 3 burst system!

Type 89 rifle was developed by HOWA Machinery Co., Japan, for National Defence Forces of Japan.

Type 89 rifle is a select-fire, gas-operated, rotating bolt firearm. The gas action and bolt group is somewhat similar to USA-designed AR-18 rifle, previously manufactured by HOWA uned license from Armalite Co (USA). Type 89 rifle has receiver made from stamped steel, polymer furniture and flip-up aperture rear sights. It also has lightweight folding bipods. Type 89 rifle may fire rifle grenades.

I don't see anything about it costing more than £50 or the £50 being a deposit. If I paid £50 for what's advertisied right now and then got asked to pay more I'd flip and throw the screenshot I just took at trading standards.

Someone needs to revise their wording.

To be honest if I paid that right now I'd expect them to honour that £50 price tag

You know I very very nearly did, I even had my credit card entered into the box and then I realised I couldn't be a**d with the arguing all the "well your website said this... etc etc... missleading information etc etc trading standards etc etc...". Got enough stress as it tongue.gif

Too many amateur lawyers here I think... wink.gif

Cheers.

Still would you want to screw over a decent retailer for the sake of being pedantic? You know full well it's not £50 tongue.gif

Exactly why I didn't go ahead with it.

We know full well it's not £50, they'd just use the same cop out that Amazon did when it was accidentally selling IPAQ pocket PCs for £15 a few years ago.

Anyway they've changed the wording on their site now wink.gif

Hmm £280....hmmm.. no no no!! the girly will make me buy her 280 quids worth of shoes or something sad.gif I'm so whipped sad.gif sad.gif

What the funk is all that rant about? Relationship? Talking to people? Everyone knows the purpose of online retailing is so you don't have to talk to people, a convienient one click method of purchasing.

One would think that the actual price would be posted on the site, so customers would not have to go through the ball ache of ringing up/ emailing.

Rant?
One may think "i live close to the shop, i'll go and have a look",
got a problem with that?
Maybe, and this is a far fetched idea i'll grant you, some people live in the real world with real people and not behind a keyboard.
Well i said it was far fetched.
