privatecowboy
That sounds like the best way to do it, although a VSR would surely be a more effective tool? Your avatar cracks me up still. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Interesting that you should mention the VSR Duff, i was trying the same thing with a gspec upgraded to 328 and using .25's, the combination of range, accuracy and the fact that it is barely audible was working well. The only problem was that people were constantly shooting at me thinking that I was playing because I am carrying a very visible rifle. With the socom i could keep that holstered, which cuts down on that type of incident. Thanks for the avtar compliment also, its not me inside the armour by the way...my beer gut wouldnt fit
Duff Beer
My Dad's got a VSR upgraded like yours, and using .25's. It is barely audible, and stupidly accurate. Damn him. Surely wearing a dayglo vest would sort the shot at issue?
privatecowboy
Yes you would hope that a High Vis vest would stop this but people still shoot. Sometimes you might just be turning a corner and people get taken by surprise, see the rifle and just open up. We all wear desert kit, usually US tricolour to further distinguish ourselves from the players but still we find ourselves targets on occasion for the famas weilding newbies! It isnt a big deal taking a few hits when marshalling it is quite funny to see the looks on their faces as they realise what they have done
Duff Beer
Hey, not all Famas users are newbies. I am a Famas user and no way near a newbie. Though I know what you mean, the amount of times I have got shot by my own side just for having a gun and not being where they expected me to be is crazy.
privatecowboy
lol..I seen you had a famas, was just having a litle poke at you got one on the way myself if you have a look in the aeg wanted section.
Duff Beer
Yeah I did notice you were looking for one. People poke fun at the Famas, but when it comes down to it, 1000rpm coming downrange is nothing to sneer at.
Xaccers
When you see a non-newbie get hit in the head and turn to his buddy and say "if that guy hits me again, I might take the hit" you get quite disheartened.

joeking27
We had some problems at my local site with cheaters. Now the morning briefing goes along the lines of: 1. Make sure you are hitting them. 2. Call a marshal. 3. If the player is cheating, they get one warning from marshals, and are watched for the rest of the day. 4. Anymore cheating, and they see the owner, who asks them to leave. For good. Personally, I'll give em a short burst, hoping they get hit. If they are not taking it, it'll get longer, and change location.
Hissing_Sid
Must admit, when I started playing I was always concerned that a sniper might zap me from a long way away and I'd think I'd felt/heard a twig spring against me or something. My personal, and totally unofficial, way of dealing with this is to simply keep still for a few seconds after the possible "hit". Then, if a sniper IS taking pot-shots at me, the chances are he will take a shot a another member of my team or take another shot at me. Either way it'll show that the noise I heard was a hit. I'll be honest though, I think it's the responsibility of the shooter to make sure that the shot hits in a sensible place. If, for example, I'm wearing my kevlar helmet and fighting my way through a bunch of brambles, if you hit me on the top of the head then it's very unlikely that I will hear or feel the shot. In a situation like that I genuinely would prefer that the shooter try to hit me on the @rse or leg. In my experience, most people are pretty honest about taking their hits BUT I don't think many people actually call hit unless they're sure of a hit. Again, this is really down to the shooter really. It's just as easy to put 2 or 3 shots into a target as it is to put 1. If you've got a BA then you can still put 2 shots into a single target. If there are multiple targets then the first person hit should realise he's been hit when the 2nd person gets shot at. TBH though, I'm spending time discusing very rare events. Most of the time when you get hit it's by a volley of fire rather than a single BB. In that case you'd almost definately have to be cheating to ignore the hit.
Fixxxer
I used to have someone in my team that, in training, would come round a corner fire into the bushes behind me while I shooting him in the gut and then shout "your hit" and wonder off while I'am still watching the BB's bouch off his back. We quickly got rid of him.
