1647
Hi, was browsing for western arms parts and I came across this and I am totally clueless as to what it is..... did a google search and it didn't help....
Hissing_Sid
It's what you use to colour a gun. Guns shouldn't be painted. They should be blued. I dunno if this stuff is different to "proper" gun-blue. Using gun-blue for a firearm can damage an airsoft gun. Proper gun-blue is acidic and can attack the alloys which airsoft guns are made from. Maybe this stuff is a bit kinder to alloy parts?
1647
So does that mean it is sort of like paint.... and I can use it to touch up some chipped paint metal parts (such as the safety catch and magazine catch)?
Antagon
It works like Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black. It only works on Aluminum, and through a chemical reaction it..turns it black. The finish isn't exactly even, though it can be made to be after rubbing some silicon oil into it. It's made for touching up parts more or less.
1647
thanks mate...... I have no idea what Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black is (and yes, i am a noob) was considering taking all the metal parts out and spray painting them (but I didn't really want to do this, as I have no idea how to dismantle it) also, because the product say 'super gun blue', I have this idea that I will get a result similar to G19 metal slide finish wedged in my head....... Anatagon or Hissing Sid or anyone infact, have you had any experience with using this product or anything along those lines that you recommend....
Antagon
I use Aluminum Black all the time. Like I said, it's more for touchups, I wouldn't do a major part with it... it also wears EXTREMELY easily.
1647
nah, its not any major chipping.... maybe just specks with no more than 1mm in diameter..... how easy does it wear? finger nail scratch easy?
