IDK if this has been mentioned at all (I didn't see it.)

Anyway, there is now an 8mm M2HB .50 cal machine gun brought to us by Piper Precision Products and it's only about $3000 US.

Here's a link. (Scroll down a little.)

I'm sure that's what the people at PPP are thinking.

*chuckle!* And to add insult to injury, it shoots 8mm BBs. Not only is the gun outrageously expensive, but so is the ammo, which it sprays by the thousands (in all directions if it's a bit windy)! Ahahaha. rolleyes.gif

Also raises the question of does your local skirmish site allow 8mm bb firing weapons?

NOTE: i REALLY wouldn't know about any of the sites i use as it's not a topic i've even considered asknig about before.

^^lol
I think many sites allow 8mm but on semi auto only like that M1 Garand i've floating about. These can probably be used at the Sterling Services events as at one event i heard about they had an MG42 firing 700fps as it was hooked up to an external gas rig. Totally wiped out one of the lads there.

Well they run events that are purely voluntarily and as the organisers are ex SAS (hardmen) what did you expect less. Anyway i eard one of the lads had his legs taken from underneath him and welts the size of ping-pong nalls after being shot at 100yards.

i think there was some slight exageration but they do use higher powers than some other sites (often around the high 370s) and they do have some nasty vehicle mounted support weapons from time to time

8mm full-auto M2HB is just beautiful. That's just as good as our M134 we got in the shop. For 3 k, that is a steal. Man that is something I wished someone would make!

Oh yes about the 700 deal thing, we do a 900FPS M4 at my shop. If it's a M16 with the M16 barrel, it will reach over 1100~1200FPS about. And what's also cool is that the BBs will make a pow like noise when it reaches and breaks the sound barrier and sounds like a .22cal firing. Of course the BBs do shatter at that point. To get an idea what a 1200FPS gun will do, it can break through 4 green gas cans. Then again I won't say how you do it.

Anyways, if would be great if more companies expanded on the 8mm series to develope more heavy and large bore rifles with 8mm. We had a 8mm M82, but I wish there was a like a bolt action Styer HS.50 with the 8mm. Then again this is a start. Who knows what to expect from them!

What springs does those guns use? and for how long do they actually function?
On the more useful side, here a company makes sniper rifles that go on the wrong side of 980fps with a 0.43...

That .50cal is a bit of a joke, no real sound, use expensive ammo, can't be used on many fields and some countries (Denmark only allows 6mm)

But i guess if you can't build anything yourself, then it's the option if you want...a gun that does the same as any other airsoft gun biggrin.gif

Mikkel, I can't discuss on how to make those guns because not only it is our custom job at the shop but also forums won't discuss it here. The gun's do last quite long and it's built on a Marui gun. It doesn't work with other brands.

980 with .43 is very nice too! That's the same type of BBs we use to chrono as well.

Hard time believing, but it's true. In Hawaii we get many people who upgrade like that. Even at my store we do offer upgrades like that if the customer wants a weapon like that. Just to let you know check my profile for our website.

that browning .50cal is really weak sounding, it has this modest little pop-pop-pop-pop sound whereas the real one is BANG-BANG-BANG-BANG! For $3000 id expect a litte more than that.

I'd also expect a more usable ROF. While it's still a larger bore than a normal AS gun you can't lay down as effective support fire with a 500rps cycle rate. sad.gif

Can't wait for my local guy to get his version running. It's going to have a verry similer firing mech.

tbh if the fps is thats silly and the rof is that loew its a waste.

i would like to see crew served guns in game but running at say 400fps with a high rof from fixed positions

I have come to terms with many things in my life but as soon as you can accept that airsoft is a bunch of grown men dressing up as soilders and playing with toy guns in a glorified version of paintball or "army" you will have found the enlightenment to be honest with yourself

ive been airsofting for more than 14 years. ive played at most of the sites in england at least once.

do i REALY have to prove that im an airsofter in any other way?

But that's the real rof... And what noise do you expect from an airsoft gun? I think that that's a nice piece, that i'll never be able to afford it (unless i win the lottery) just as other PPP products, and that 500fps using 8mm BB is insane.
BTW, in a game, a MG using high FPS isn't more useful than one using current/slightly upped power. It's just the way people justify expensive guns that they can't take along... and it hurts.
