It looks pretty nice for 310 dollars, plus it has the realistic gas tube and such. The wood looks a bit too "clean" though. Still, I hope this comes to the UK at a good price, its very tempting.

argh! Why does no-one ever make an AKM!

still, shouldn't be too hard/expensive to convert with the new inokatsu kits, one hopes. . .

The scope rail completely kills it. Can anybody say if it's removeable? It looks like there's just a few screws holding it on, maybe you can drop the rail if you think it looks dumb on a 50's weapon?

Hmm, more options to get when I sell my M14...
And the scope mount looks like a standard POSP mount plate, RS AK's can have them installed also AFAIK so its not unrealistic.
Wait! We can't stop here, this is bat country!

I wonder if there's a place where you can buy the dummy gas systems. I'd like to retrofit my Marui with one of these. Failing that, though, it'd be cool for an AKM conversion, since nobody makes one. And it's about time, too.

I wish every AK had that realistic field stripping.

G&G Kalashnikov series of AEGs have a rubber padding in the mag well to eliminate excess mag movement and play. However, the magazine well is so tight fitting that pressure is excerted onto the magazine lip where the mag is "hooked" into position when it is inserted.

This excess pressure can sometimes break the mag lip. Magazines that have a plastic mag lip are susceptible to premature magazine wear or fracture.

Since STAR mags are plastic, it might not be a good choice for G&G Kalashnikovs.

can any modifications be made to the magwell/rubber padding to prevent such breakage without affecting performance?

On the RK104 I had. I removed the rubber pad and sanded it down to fit my mags.

It's a rather poorly implemented design, good idea, poor in the product.

I don't mind the rubber padding. It is also showing no wear whatsoever or cracking or anything. I think just some silicone spray on it once in awhile will keep it alive. On the mags I use, there isn't that much pressure after using the mag, but I did have to modify the metal lip on the magazine to get it to fit, the mag was too wide from front to back to really fit good enough. After some sanding it fits great. Just snug enough but not so snug you can't insert a mag. I might have to buy this RK47 because I'm very impressed with their RK104.

Wow, that is a really cool looking AK. Amazing price too for a fullmetal+wood one, but that scope mount kind of wrecks it.

It works quite well for me... my mags are rock solid and I think the gun will break before my mags will.. wink.gif Just don't use mags with plastic lips

True, I broke more than one in my G&G AK...
