worth every penny if you're into shotguns though smile.gif

I don't honestly think the price tag is that horrendous, given the quality of tanaka fit and finish in general. It is a shame that the shell design is the same as the 1897 though by the looks of it, they aren't the most robust thing to have in a shell ejector (Read, they tend to come apart quite easily from what I've seen).

Looks cool though thats for sure smile.gif

Yeah, I guess, but I don't have any real income.

Does anyone know if the Tanaka chambers the cartridge properly? Not like the maruzen ones where they get hidden behind the bolt.

edit:
Only 2 shells with it? Gah the could at least give you a full mags worth dry.gif

Yeah, the m500 is also on my list- just saying that, as a primary in CQB/urban, this would be WELL worth the price-tag, simply for the sheer unadulterated fun of it all.

I am VERY interested to see the m500s though- while shells are superb, hysterical and manly (reloading my M870 from behind cover was, without hesitation, the closest I've come to feeling like I was in an action film biggrin.gif ), the m500s are definately less hassle.

I will, of course; have to restart my much-thwarted plan to build the Billy Gun m16a2/m500 masterkey if I ever make enough cash...

I still wouldn't be happy about ejecting those shells on anything less than a pile of pillows covered in feathers though.

thats what shell catchers are for smile.gif

used to use one on my maruzen, and they worked absolutely fine- probably the only part of that gun that never developed an issue smile.gif

That looks freakign great. I want some performance specs, but man it looks nice.

I still think I'm getting the export M500, largely because it'll be cheaper, but that is TEMPTING!

Yeah, you can use a shell catcher. But the whole point of shell ejecters is they eject shells. A catcher would just ruin it for me, you may as well have a spring shotty with a cosmetic shell catcher, but each to their own.

if the problem with the shells is the metal back section splitting off the plastic part and a bunch of bits getting out.. why not just use some tactical sellotape to keep the two halves together?

Actually, I'd be a bit more concerned about the little section of plastic that sits in the front of the shell and holds in the washer (which secures the BBs in place)

A lot easier to lose than the two big halves of the shell imo, perhaps a bit of loctite would fix it.

Indeed. The back half stays on fine, it is the little plastic centre part that holds the o ring that likes to leap out there by spilling the contents of the shell off somewhere. Been a while since I looked at EH's, but maybe permanently gluing that part in place might solve the issue.

Power Edge has sets of 5 shells for $35, a fine price if you ask me so the fact it only comes with 2 isnt too much of a problem. This is by far the most appealing shotgun to me yet. If the price ever drops down a bit i might be interested in one.
