It says on their site that the SCAR - Light weighs a hefty 5330.0g, making it at least 2kg's heavier than most of their other guns.

Do you think this is a mistake?

Light is a reference to the calibre. The light version is I think 5.56mm while the heavy is 7.62mm.

That weight is a little much, the original real steel AK47 weighed 5 kilos so it is probably a mistake. The SCAR may be a little heavier though as a cnc machined upper is weighty compared to a stamped metal or polymer receiver but that will probably make this gun have a very sturdy structure. Now as long as the stock is solid enough...

Yes you are right, light in weapons terms does not mean lightweight, it usually refers to caliber (although Barretts 50 bmg rifle was called a "light fifty" I think this was because it was the first non crew served semi auto 50 rifle) wink.gif

I would have to say its just a type-o. The real SCAR-L weighs 3.5kg, CA says it's SCAR-L is 5330.0g all you gotta do is swap the first two numbers around and I would say that is its real weight.

I'm just kinda concerned about its battery capacity. I have heard that it can take both the large 8.4v (in the stock) and the mini 8.4v (in the front somewhere), but CA's website that it is only mini. sad.gif

I think that this is related to the screw holding the gear on the motor in place. This causes some problems in the past because it was prone to losen itself and drop of the motor shaft.
I assume that it is now like on the Marui Motors, fixed by "friction" don't know the right term atm wink.gif

So, if you have a problem, if no one else can help and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team

I'm still waiting for a Sig line to be made by somebody other than Marui. My Sig 552 is lonely. sad.gif

I'd also like to see CA delve into the WWII market. They've already gone back to the Vietnam-era with some of there other new releases, let's see them go back a little farther.

The "Wooden Stock" poster is a riot, as well. biggrin.gif

I hear you on the SIG front, CA is supposed to be developing the SIG 55 series so I think I will hold out for those (the SIG series is criminally under represented), tempting though the SCAR may be it just can't match that swiss craftsmanship. biggrin.gif

Specifically, the SIG 551, need something compact, maybe the 552 hmm...
