Just saw this on Airsoft-news.eu and can't recall seeing the release date mentioned for this previously so i guess it's news, even though we've known it's coming for a long while.

I've not handled a USP before, but i'm trying to figure out if that lever on the back is a selector or safety. can somebody with more knowledge of the USP shed some light?

--- edit: on further investigation (ie, looking at pictures of rs) it's the safety

copied and pasted from Airsoft-news.eu.

Tokyo Marui: USP AEP

Tokyo Marui's USP AEP replica is coming. At least according Japaneses shops, which are already taking preorders. It will be available in February; First Cav says that technology has matured and Marui's engineers ironed out small problems evident in previous versions.

Basic specs: length 194mm, weight 702g; magazine capacity 30 BBs. Preorder price at First Cav (also source of the picture) is 13.080 Yen (83.33 EUR), which gives you rough idea how much it will cost in Hong Kong.

Yeah, its a safety--one thing I'm curious about is the trigger--is that a skelatalized trigger?

Is it semi only? If it was, I'd definitely consider getting one. If not... well, then I won't.

Look at the picture--it might be a seam, and at that resolution it most likely is, but the trigger appears to be a deeper, skelatonized trigger.

But, most likely just a mold seem being picked up by light that looks like the continuation of the trigger.

Does def look like a skel trigger. The chinese clone is apparently good so if this sucks theres a fall back tongue.gif

Edit: not a clone as it was made first tongue.gif

If it was skeletal and deep at the back how would it have the rear clearance to be depressed rolleyes.gif

Its just a seam people wink.gif

At least this looks like a USP unlike the weird china ######.

Goddamnit, these clones are killing airsoft, and now a normally reputable company like TM is getting in on it by cloning someone else's gun! This makes me so angry!

I have the DE USP and its great, it fires well, and is quite accurate, crono'd it at a game saturday and it clocked in at 210 fps stock, although another person there had the same one as me and his clocked at 250 fps, wierd but oh well.

hope this helps,
Joe

Now I see what you guys are talking about. That's no seam line, and that's not the trigger. They cut the USP out of a back blackground, but forgot to fill that little bit in white.

im pretty sure thats just a seam line, there's one on my KJW USP anyway. And because of the angle it looks like a seperate part.

The TM version looks a lot better to me than that DE-AEP. For some reason the DE's pistol grip seems to be too diagonal. The slide look cheap (despite being metal), and the lower plastic part is too shiny. I'll stick to the tm.

If it is the same as the DE one then it's select fire. The safety catch is the fire selector.

The links to airsoftnews.eu are odd. Hotlinks don't work BUT if you go to the website and let the page load THEN come back to Arnies the pic appears to work, probably from a cached image on your HDD.

HAHAHA!

Absolutely classic. biggrin.gif

"It's a skeletonised trigger, Ewww!"
"No, it's a seam!"

No guys. It's an unedited bit of a black background. wink.gif
