The regular WE 1911A1 looks great, but the compact one had a regular sized grip with a smaller slide and barrel, leading to an awkward appearance. WE has a remedy to this, the 1911A1 super compact. This one has a smaller grip (only a 13 round mag instead of 15) so it doesn't look as awekward as the normal compact. I kind of like it.

Y'know, I was all ready to shout "NOOOOOOOOOO!" but actually I quite like it.  Reminds me of the Detonics Combat Master.

But the name... 'CQB Extreme Compact'?  That bugs me!  These days, the shorter the gun, the longer the name.  "Cos its like...uh...all leet an stuff".  Odd.

A little bit small for me sad.gif And yeah I have to agree, the name is awful! Couldnt it just have been M1911A1 3.8?

it's actually a sub-compact as the compact in the Colt range was the Combat Commander

Not sure, but it would be nice!  BTW, the description seems to indicate that it takes full size magazines as well as the short ones.

Cheers,
Daniel

I think it's an evike plug.  If you check wgc, den, and unco, the pics show an unthreaded barrel.

I've got one on order from unco, and when it gets here, I'll post my impressions/pics.

At evike it apparently comes with 1 13 rounder and a 15 rounder, so i guess it can indeed take regular mags. Airsplat started stocking the gun too now, and they stock compact spares, so i might want to pick this up with a few of those (i'm not a fan of the extended mag look).

standard barrel with an orange tip pushed into it. Just like all the other WE pistols.

I'm pretty sure in the Colt range of 45s:

1) Fullsize 1911s (5-7 inch)

2) Commander (refers to ANY 1911 with a barrel 4-4.5 inch)

3) Officer or Compacts (refers to 1911s with barrel 3-3.5 inch ): Officer, Defender. Alot of times, Colt Compacts are just called Officer length.

now these barrel lengths will vary between manufacturers. . for instance with SVI 4.3, it's referred to as a Compact. . as is the SVI 3.9.

Springfield calls their 1911s with 3-3.5 inch barrels ULTRA Compact.

Kimber calls their 1911s with 3-3.5 inch barrel MICRO Compacts.
