I don't get it. What would be better about it over the original?

They claim to have glock fidelity, but funny how they only show the right side.

That would be because it looks to be made of a heavyweight polymer like the real one.
the dull grey look is because the camera lighting isn't being reflected like it would from an ABS frame.
I only wish they had done a Gen2 version as I don't like the rail much

Shizzle.
Hmmm...original Glock frame without silly finger-grooves...
Or even the original-original, and use a stainless barrel and white lettering and make yourself a Glock 17 prototype

I thought that about Sig P226 grips...they look "grey" compared to the sh!tty shiney plasticky mank-jobs Marui used.
Grey in an airsoft photo usually just means matte finish IMHO
The pictures of the KSC Mk23 Heavyweight frame look "grey" too but in reality its a thing of beauty
Flat matte black with a hint of grey-green...perfect!
Marui have the annoying tendency of making the slide and frame the exact same colour and finish which isn't very realistic for replicas aluminium or polymer framed guns...
Even their old G17 springer had serrations on the slide paint job to make it look like parkerised steel (and different to the slide)...

The real one is not made froma a heavy polymer. The frame is actually much lighter than even the ABS frame of a KSC. And it's shiny too.

all the gen 1 Glock 17s I have held have had the cold, matt, dense frame similar to the KSC HW Glock 19 !
it might be lighter but much closer in looks and feel to the HW frames
Also the material ,whilst looking black shows up way lighter under camera.
Whether this has been changed in later models I would not know as 3rd generation Glocks are a rarety here.
