Billed as the companion pistol to the KAC PDW due out anytime soon.

Some of the text catches my eye.
I'm thinking tightbore barrel as standard, it's got an anondised finish, and 'extensive CNC treatment', whatever that means...

It's pretty silly though to have all these re-traded WEs calling themselves as Novak or Wilson Combat or Knighthawk(I think thats the next one). 1911 is a pretty basic gun, so many people make it, and all that really seperates from one to the other is the sight, the trades, the grips and the controls. If you can't bother to make those right before you call them by their specific type, why really bother to go out of your way and get it licensed.....

RM since you can copy and paste, SO CAN I!!!! LOL
Because they can sell more (You know, make more money) , and some people are not over complicating gun nerds and just like to look at neat markings and have a cool case. Personally, I like the look and wouldn't mind paying for it.

I think that looks pretty sweet... I've never seen golf ball slide dimpling before. Holes look a bit too big for me though, i reckon it'd look better if they'd used smaller dents.

Strategy seems to have worked for WA, wouldn't you say?

And here I thought fish scale slide serrations were hard to swallow. Though for what little licensing fee WE has been churning out, they're saving loads on the R&D (or copy pasta) by keeping to the simple 1911 which has an almost infinite number of iterations. While it may look dull and boring to some (like how some would complain "not another armalite") those who appreciate it will be delighted to have the correct trades of a very specific build they like. I don't particularly like this one, but if they stray towards making Bob Chow replicas, I'm definitely buying.

Anyone know when its coming?
Pretty nice looking pistol although that photo is heavily shopped. Will be interesting to see what the quality is like in hand. Im excited that its supposed anodized which is a definite step up from the painted 1911's currently ruling the market.

But when WA release a 1911 variant, 99% of the time they accurately portray the model they claim it to be.

My comment was aimed more towards the Novak Next model. The KnightHawk looks like a pretty close copy. Doing a quick comparison it seems the thumb safety, slide catch and the checkering on the front strap are wrong. Then theres minor stuff like, grip texture, extra marking on trigger guard, lanyard loop on mainspring housing and wrong colored barrel bushing and spring plug. Of course those last few things are pretty minor, so overall its pretty good.

but i will buy one because i love the pdw so much
even though i hate WE as their guns are so *suitcase* and poorly made

Oct 25 2009, 07:38 PM
LOL? WE hater? Their guns arnt that bad, Come on...... You get what U pay for... and you pay 90 bucks for a full metal GBB..... Do you really expect it to run forever? I know i dont. BTW, I have seen people getting lucky with some of the newer WE GBBs.
RacingManiac
Oct 25 2009, 07:57 PM
Well for my $90 I'd buy the KJW....full TM clone, and runs better than WE(which btw, KJW is coming out with their own single stack MEU)....but then I'd be lying, I like wasting my money on expensive guns...lol

IMO they should just have made straight copy of Kimber SIS. That would have made more sense with that distinctive rear sight and all.

Oct 26 2009, 10:46 AM
It's a tigh in with the PDW not it's WETTI not WE or SOCOM Gear. But as they know have that style sight a Kimber will probably be along soon.

There's something oddly beautiful about that pistol. Although I still think I'm gonna go with an MEU, I don't really see the performance advantage of the dimples.

I think the whole golf ball thing i something to do with cooling the real steel version, making it lighter and easier to forward rack, just looks wrong on the grip though
Lets face it KAC make the best real steel weapons
This was made to go with the new KAC M16/M4 which has the same treatment as the PDW
Also here is another shot of the pistol (real steel)

RS golf ball dimple on the barrel of the KAC rifle can be use as some sort of cooling/lightening/metalergical enhancement. On the pistol, its just to match with the styling of the rifle.....Like the scaling of the Kimber Raptor or the "SIS" of the SIS Kimbers....styling cues...I'd hardly think the golf ball dimple helps for pistol grasping or slide manipulation, at least comparing to traditional checking and stippling.

Oct 27 2009, 03:53 PM
(Wonder if Titleist saw this yet...) "Dimpling" can have advantages in RS barrel lightening and cooling-for this GBB, it's more for looks. Novak makes good RS .45's, while WE's GBB's are ok/iffy sometimes. +1 for WE's machining prowess and innovation in new releases, but its not for me.
