World War 2 Special - June 29th/30th 2002 written by Phil Stevens (aka Pigpie)- Monday, March 18, 2002

With increase interest in the WW2, we've decided to do a themed WW2 weekend, using both woodland and urban sites.

The event will be at Dragon Valley, and Spectre Wargames (Cardiff and Herefordshire respectively)

Blending airsoft with roleplay, the game would be for all those wishing that they could be in the band of brothers, saving lost privates or crossing bridges too far…

Storyline
The weekend will be base around the allied push through Normandy, starting in a woodland setting, and then having to assault a military camp. We'll be using SFX, purpose built props and other stuff to ensure this is realistic experience, relying on people getting in the spirit of the day. Roleplay will be as important as airsoft.

Each game will be a part of an ongoing story, telling the compelling account of a small Allied section charged with retrieving stolen documents from German hands. Gameplay will be ongoing, and ensure players become immersed in the feel for the period.

Weapons
Must be of WW2 era, with the SOLE exception of the AK47 (close enough to the MG44) for Axis. Germans can use allied weapons etc, as there is a shortage of options for them. Only low-cap mags will be allowed.

Dress
Must be good representation of WW2 - ie. Allied olive fatigues, German grey/pea dot or field blue. Goggles will be used obviously. You don't necessarily have to spend a bomb – click here for a list of options all under £30

Cost
The whole vent will cost £40 for the weekend, inclusive of 2 days gaming, a grenade supply, BB's, camping and BBq's. Players will need transport between the woodland and urban sites, as well as a sleeping bag.

Booking
You can book here, but please be aware that we will require a deposit of £20 before the end of May to cover your place. If you can’t provide this deposit, we can’t assure you of a place.
