Just to let every one know for once and for all KSC Japan version is more expencive because they are shiped back to Japan after being manufactured in Tawain for further Legal testing to make sure they shoot under 1 Joule and are then marked with ASGK markings to prove this, japan models are also equiped with plastic slides which are made in japan and have differant valves designed to work with duster gas. The HK/Tawain models are shiped straight from tawain and are designed for green gas with stronger valves, metal slide, metal rocket valves and (I think) stronger hammer and trigger springs. I have two USP C System 7s one japan one tawain and the lower frames are the same. So DONT BE STUPID AND BUY THE JAPAN VERSION Get the Tawain version its Better Simple as that.

I had a disappointing experience with Dentrinity recently.

What happened was I bought a new battery for my Tokyo Marui Glock 18C AEP, it was $180 HKD and the reason why I got it was because the sales person told me the new charger will only charge the new-er type of batteries; which I also bought along with the battery.

Turns out, he was dead wrong. My new charger could easily charge up the older version 7.2V batteries. So without opening the new battery, I went back to the shop and asked if I could swap the unopened (I must stress UNOPENED, COMPLETELY NEW WITH ORIGINAL PACKAGING + RECEIPT) battery with a 18C rail attachment (costs exactly the same, $180) and add an additional $200 to get the suppressor.

As "expected", Dentrinity has an extremely strict no refund/exchange policy. Even if you offer to get additional products on top of your exchange, you will get a very blunt 'no'. I personally think that is a real shame because it will deter some people (or maybe just me?) from their shop; the staff had a really negative attitude when I kindly asked if I could swap and went on to lecture me about thinking before buying and they DID NOT CARE if I were to buy all of their products on top of the exchange. (I am not exaggerating, they said that.)

So, I was rather hurt this time round. And believe me, Dentrinity was a great shop, went there multiple times before to upgrade/downgrade my gear. Pricing was always on the high side but quality is guaranteed. But I guess the "best" still have their imperfections.

It is clearly a general "rule" that goods that go out the door cannot be refunded/exchanged and I 100% accept it was my mistake. However, should a shop be so rigid towards its' customers? Are company policies so dead-set that leeway is totally impossible? Dentrinity could have made me a very happy customer but unfortunately: they did not.

Manufacturer: Beta Project (Hong Kong)
Type: AEG

http://www.digitalwastelands.com/bbimages/airsoft/betaproject/bp-tacak-01a.jpg
Beta Project - Tactical AK

The Beta Project - Tactical AK was modelled after a real SAIGA in 5.56, built for Tactical guru Travis Haley when he was still with Magpul Dynamics. It was made for him by E-Tac (a.k.a. ipscgun.com and ecmguns.com).

E-Tac - SAIGA 5.56 built for Travis Haley

The Beta Project, airsoft version is based off an AK AEG and functions as a type 3 gearbox AK would. It takes a stick type battery under the upper cover and I was able to easily fit a 9.6 NiMH battery. A Beta Project- 140 Round AK Magazine which is modelled after the 5.56 AK magazine, is included. The AEG also include 2 pistol grips. It ships with a black AK style grip installed and has a SAW Style grip you can switch to if you want. I kept the AK grip on since it's smaller.

It also ships with a Krinkov Style Flash Hider. I chose to swap out the Flash Hider for the Magpul PTS - AAC Blackout 51T Flash Hider so I could add the . [url=http://www.airsoftextreme.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=407_433_579&products_]Magpul PTS - CTR Stock and UltiMAK style fore grip rails are also included.

1 of the unique addition to this AEG is the Ambidexterous charging Handle modification. On this AEG it only functions to pull the fake bolt cover back to expose the Hop-Up slider. The charging handles are the same style as used on the Magpul PTS - Masada ACR.

The inner barrel extends past the flash hider threads about 2 inches, but the included Krinkov style flash hider will cover it. This AEG has 14mm CCW threads, so most airsoft flash hiders and silencers will work.

The magazines hold 30 rounds and come in 2 versions. It ships with a internal gas version and there is another version that will take a 12gram CO2 cartridge. Unfortunately the gas magazine that came with the GBBR had a leaky fill valve, but it was an easy fix with a valve tool to tighten the valve and silicon oil to lubricate the O-rings. The CO2 Magazine had no leak issues. The CO2 magazine was slightly more powerful then the gas magazine (See chrono results below) and both held enough gas to shoot 60 rounds with conservative shooting (i.e. Short bursts and semi auto). Curiously, CO2 wasn't that much more powerful or consistent then Green Gas in this initial firing. Both magazines have a switch that will lock the bolt back on an empty magazine.

The Selector Switch and Magazine Release are ambidexterous, but bolt release is only on the left side. Cocking handle can be installed on either side.

Manufacturer: Tokyo Marui (Japan)
Type: Gas Blow Back
Date Acquired: 08/2011

Tokyo Marui - PX4 Storm

The Tokyo Marui - PX4 is a replica of the Beretta PX4 Storm handgun. Tokyo Marui did an excellent job as usual in building this replica.

There are 2 additional backs traps included which accommodate smaller and larger hands. When the slide cycles back the outer barrel rotates just as with the real PX4. The rotating barrel is a neat concept for the real PX4, but is only for looks on the airsoft version.

The safety/decocker is functional. When put into safe, the hammer gets lowered to a non firing position. You have the option when turning the safety off to fire DA or cock the hammer manually for SA.

Tokyo Marui - PX4

As with all stock Tokyo Marui handguns, the slide is plastic. The magazine will handle green gas just fine, but you may want to switch to a metal slide if you plan on firing alot.

Manufacturer: Modify (Taiwan)
Type: Inner Barrel

http://www.digitalwastelands.com/bbimages/airsoft/modify/mod-hybrid-01a.jpg
Modify - Hybrid Inner Barrel

Modify in Taiwan was nice enough to send me their new Hybrid Inner Barrel for review. This is a 6.03 diameter barrel and uses Stainless Steel for the hop-up hozzle and Aluminum for the majority length of the barrel. In the past, I've seen issues with all aluminum inner barrels "warping" which in most cases was due to the combination of the softer aluminum material and an AEG with outer barrel wobble.

http://www.digitalwastelands.com/bbimages/airsoft/modify/mod-hybrid-02a.jpg
Modify - Hybrid Inner Barrel

The Modify - Hybrid Inner Barrel includes a hop bucking which will mate with the grooves machined into the Stainless Steel hozzle. It takes some serious wiggling to install the bucking, but once installed, it's set in place.

http://www.digitalwastelands.com/bbimages/airsoft/modify/mod-hybrid-03a.jpg
Modify - Hybrid Inner Barrel

The business end of the barrel is machined to accept O-rings which will help center inner barrel for use with some outer barrels. The AEG I tested with has a G&P outer barrel and did not need the O-ring. The barrel crown is very well done.

http://www.digitalwastelands.com/bbimages/airsoft/modify/mod-hybrid-04a.jpg
Modify - Hybrid Inner Barrel - Comparison vs. Tokyo Marui Stock Inner Barrel (455mm AK47 but cut down to 430mm)

Install into the hop-up unit was like most others. Go slow, so as not to tear the bucking. In this case I used a Classic Army hop-up unit, so didn't need to use included barrel shim.

http://www.digitalwastelands.com/bbimages/airsoft/modify/mod-hybrid-05a.jpg
Modify - Hybrid Inner Barrel + Classic Army 1 Piece Metal Hop-up

Without a gun vice I believe all accuracy and grouping tests can be flawed. Below are FPS results which will give some raw velocity numbers for comparison. Used .20 Excel BB's

Modify - Hybrid Inner Barrel
  • 6.03mm Diameter
  • 363mm
  • Avg FPS: 385

Tokyo Marui Stock Inner Barrel
  • 6.06mm +/- Diameter
  • 430mm (Custom Cut AK47 455mm)
  • Avg FPS: 378

As you can see, the shorter Modify Hybrid Inner Barrel had higher FPS. This is not just due to the tighter diameter of the barrel, but the better seal of the bucking.

Manufacturer: G&P (Hong Kong)
Type: AEG

http://www.digitalwastelands.com/bbimages/airsoft/gp/gp-stoner-01a.jpg
G&P - Stoner U.S. Navy MK23 LMG

The G&P - Stoner U.S. Navy MK23 LMG (Light Machine Gun) is a replica of the Stoner 63 LMG which was adopted by U.S. Navy SEAL units during the Vietnam war. For VN Airsoft fans, there's now an LMG alternative to the M60 with the smaller form factor Stoner.

The G&P airsoft version is an impressive replica in external and internal build quality. The body, outer barrel, heat shield, sights , magazine cage and trigger are metal and furniture is a polymer. The battery compartment is in the stock and it's setup to accepts Deans connector batteries. I've seen some retailers claiming a 9.6 large type battery will fit, but when putting an 8.4 large type, you feel it push out the inside of the polymer stock. Smaller format 9.6's and 8 cell stick batteries will fit though.

G&P - Stoner U.S. Navy MK23 LMG

Internally it's based on a Version 2 gearbox with 8mm bearings run by a G&P M120 High Speed motor. The box mag is electric and holds 1200 rounds. It's powered by a 9 volt battery, but the auto wind switch is integrated with the Stoners trigger. Holding down the trigger for a few seconds will start the auto winder in the box mag. The feed mechanism is unique and is a top feed. Unfortunately this means it will only work with this box mag.
