Have you ever had a leaking valve in a GBB magazine, but were unable to remove the valve for maintenance? If so, this product is well worth considering.
I do a lot of work on magazine valves and every now and then, a valve needs to be removed, stripped down and cleaned, greased and repaired. The problem has always been getting the darned valve out of the magazine, whether it be the filling valve at the bottom or the large firing valve on the back. Originally, I cut a 7.62mm NATO bullet casing in half and filed it down to create two prongs to fit the firing valve, but the sort brass would bend out of shape and be useless after removing one valve. I needed a proper tool.
I saw this tool while making an order from WGC Shop, but was debating whether or not to get it because of the price. US$30.00 excluding taxes and shipping!!! That's a lot for one small tool, but I figured it would pay for itself if it could help keep only 1 magazine working long-term.
The tool seems to be very solid and made of a tough metal. Hopefully it should last really well, but it hasn't received that much use so far, so I will add an update to this review when it has received a bit more wear and tear.
The tool has two ends to it. One end fits the small filling valve on the bottom of most, if not all GBB magazines, not just the KSC ones.
The other end fits the larger firing / output valves on the back of GBB mags. It fits all KSC magazines, and also fits all other magazines I have tested it on so far. I know for a fact it fits the KWA Glocks, Maruzen MP5k, TM Hi-Capa, and a few more that escape me at the moment. I haven't found a valve it doesn't fit yet.
The tool allows you to remove the tightest fitted valves, and tighten them far beyond what most other tools will allow.
Basically, it does exactly what it should do and I am very impressed. Hopefully this particular tool will be part of my Airsoft Gunsmith Toolkit for many years to come.
10 out of 10 for functionality and build quality, but the expense means that it only gets an overall 8 out of 10 from me. Still, VERY glad I've got it
