Pros: Quick-Detatchable, Compatible with RIS scope mounts, Iron-sights still usable, Cheap, All metal construction, Fits all MP5 style mounting lugs, Looks cool.
Cons: Relatively weak pot-metal construction

Tokyo Marui brings us the most realistic scope mount for the MP5 series of AEGs. This Claw Mount is a direct replica of the one used on real-steel MP5s and it looks equally fabulous on the Airsoft replicas. Moulded using pot-metal, it's not the strongest mount around, but it's certainly not weak. It will withstand all normal use admirably, but may be susceptable to severe impact.

So what does it do? Firstly, it fits all MP5 AEGs - TM, CA, and ICS. To fit it, you just push it over the lugs on the top of the gun, and pull down the locking lever until you hear a click. That's it - solid as a rock. To detatch, you push down the release lever on the opposite side of the mount and it comes straight off.

On a couple of occasions, I have got this mount to fit the Maruzen MP5k GBB too, but I have also found that sometimes it grips too tightly to allow the bolt inside the gun to move freely. I guess it depends on the gun and the mount being used as the Maruzen body is easily squeezed and the bolt inside does need to move freely in order for the gun to operate. I suppose you just have to take a chance on this setup.

Mounting is a consideration though. It will fit either way round on the gun, so you must mount it with the release lever facing AWAY from your body when the gun is held to your chest. Mounting it the wrong way round will result in the release lever being accidentally actuated as the gun brushes past your chest. With it mounted the right way round, I have NEVER experienced premature unlocking of the mechanism.

As an added bonus of using this mount, there is a hole running front to back clean through it, allowing you to use the standard iron-sights on the gun while this mount is still attached. Very handy if your RDS stops working during a skirmish.

Overall, I love this mount. It's cheaper, more useful, better looking, and easier to use than anything else on the market for the MP5. It has been with me to every skiemish I have been to in the last 2 years and it has never failed me yet.

Top marks! Smile

Pros: Nice and Weightly, looks good
Cons: Falls off all of the time.

This is a 20mm scope mount for the mp5 and g3 series. I used this on a TM MP5 SD5.

When you clip it on with a scope attached, it looks very nice, like something you see in Rainbow 6. It makes the gun look alot nicer, and still retains the iron sights.

So far, so good.

However, when you use it in the feild, you start to see the down side of it. The release lever would catch on every thing, branches, a loose sling. This meant that it (and the scope) were falling off around the feild. Not so good. This ended up in me taking it off, and putting it in my webbing.

One solution would be to saw down the release lever, so it could not get caught, but I don't really feel like it.

I much prefer the Low mounts avaible, they attach with hex screws, and in my opinion, are easier to use, however this changes from person to person.

I have rated this 5 as I feel that when you could pay 80 pounds for an aimpoint replica, I would hate for it to fall off and break. For this reason I recommend the CA low mount.

Pros: Looks great, adds nice wieght, holds tight
Cons: Non

Quick and painless...

Used on a TM SG1

Personally i haven't had any problems with this product in the months i have owned it. In skirmishes it has performed well.

I found that combined with a cheek rest and low mounts it's just the right height to use for sharpshooting as well as looking good and being comfortable. Previously i just used high mounts on a CA low profile mount but didn't think it did it justice.

I was told before buying the CLAW that it had a history of 'popping off' but this has never happened to me. The only reason i could find to support this was perhaps not locking the CLAW properly.

Good buy!
