Ok so you have read the reviews of the HK scope mount, you know the clampy one that falls off in the middle of the game and if you�re real lucky you notice and get to keep the mount and ACOG that�s attached. Well I read �em too. So I decided not to go for that kind of mount. I also decided that I didn�t want to have my ACOG to high up making it susceptible to being struck etc. So the answer? A G&G Low Profile Scope mount!

Basically it�s a small section of RIS with four clamps in each corner secured by 4 2mm hex screw/nut. It sits up on top of you G3 or MP5 depending on your flavor and is clamped by tightening the hex screws. It is worth noting that the clamps pull the mount downwards towards the body as opposed to squeezing the body together (if you take a closer look at your Rifle/SMG body you will notice 4 lugs along the top of it, this is what the mount secures to). Now a note on it falling off, basically it won�t, it can�t! 3 of the 4 hex nuts would have to be completely removed for this to happen. Once you do the 4 hex nuts up it ant going nowhere! This does mean that when you want it off it is much slower than the H&K one, but hey, how often do you decide to remove your scope during a skirmish?? The mount is available in two lengths short (G-03-031) and long (G-03-060). I got the shorter of the two and it�s about 90mm or so.

As with all G&G gear it is top notch, very well made, laser engraved (mounting numbers on top and G&G ARAMENT MP5/G3 L.P.M on bottom) and comes in that flat black gun like finish!

The results of mounting one of these is you get a very solid low profile platform with which to mount your scope that looks great with or without an aiming device attached.

Not much to add that hasnt been said before other than to praise this very simple product. When something tends to work so well, no one ever thinks about it or bothers to think about what it does. Its just taken for granted. This is one of those products.

The main benifit of it as pointed out before is that it won't deform the body, not can it easily fall off due to how the hex bolts work with the latches. It allows the scope to hug the body so that it doesnt add a large bulk ontop of the gun. Some people may comment that you cant use the iron sights or co witness the iron sights. If ur using an RDS and it fails, pull it off. Thats why I use a quick release mount. The actual mount doesnt obscure the iron sights when the RDS isnt on it.

The only problem with the mount was that the hex bolts rust. Not a problem if you dont play in the rain, but I do. Fair enough if the gun has time to dry out properly but this wasnt the case. Luckily it was only surface rust and mostly came off. Some silicone oil next time it rain on the gun will hopefully stop this.

Take a scope of a claw mount and it looks like something is wrong with the gun, like a cake with no cherry. Due to the low profile of the G&G mount, it looks good either way.
