Positive aspects of the product (pros): The most wide angle scope out there, low mag, bright optics
Cons: expensive

well I spotted this beauty behind the counter at a hunting shop. I had always wanted one of these sinced released in the mid 90's. It was second hand and I returned to buy it the next day for 70 pounds. A saving of 30 pounds on the retail price; worth it, as I checked out that it was in mint condition.

Cross hairs are nice and fine in the centre, with chunky posts. These help in low light (when the cross hair fades.)This is better than an illuminated reticule in my opinion, as your eye can remain fully open and it doesn't affect your night vision.

This scope is brilliant. With only 1.5 magnification, it is perfect for short ranged Airsoft guns. The scope is amazingly wide angle and allows you to have a much wider field of vision than other optics. If the scope is mounted on low mounts, it is so wide angle, that you can see your muzzle through the scope.

1.5 magnification with a 20mm front optic allows a light index of around 13 (20 divided by 1.5). which compares to a 3mag with 40 optic (40 divided by 3 = 13).

This scope can handle low light easily due to the good quality optics and is usable on a moonlit night in open terrain. 20mm optics can be good enough , as anyone who has used a SUSAT will tell you.

Turning up the zoom to 5 shows the scope can handle longer ranges too. Personally, I only use this to spot and always shoot on 1.5 mag or 3. 5 is viable on a full power TANAKA rifle.

The scope has a really class mottled finish that is far better than the run of the mill, gloss black seen on most hunting optics. The caps come off to reveal turrets adjustable with your fingers.

Fitting to a rifle is no problem with a set of rings to your desired height. Be sure to get the cross hair dead level with the mechanism of the gun though.

I have always used this scope on an AEG before as the low mag is perfect for these guns. The eye relief is comfortable and looking through it, reveals the low mag to be a great help out to 30m. After that range you can lose the pellet (behind the post). Although I still hit targets out to long range using it.

As the mag is low, the grouping of the gun appear tighter but this is just an illusion caused by the wider view. Pellets are easily seen heading down to the centre of the sights and this gives you great confidence to hit targets.

The scope allows you to use it at closer ranges more readily than higher mag scopes too.

At longer ranges, the low mag and super wide angle give you a chance to still put the target in the bottom of the sight picture. In effect this increases the maximum range that you can use your sights on an Airsoft gun. (ie. longer ranged lob shooting with the scope).

The scope has such a wide angle that at 100m you can see 20m across when set to 1.5 mag.

The shortened front tube is handy on a smaller gun. I fitted it on my m40a1 and it has proven more suited than the 50 and 40mm scopes that it replaced. The scope is compact and the small opening offers little chance of catching the light and reflecting. I have a button press scope cover for it and this is handy when it rains.

A short scope for a short gun. This is the most expensive optic I have bought for an Airsoft gun, yet I feel it is perfect for that application. It is over engineered for Airsofting but has no gimmicks. A sound investment and I am very pleased with this scope, compared to all the TASCO, BSA, NIKKO STERLING optics I have owned in the past, this is easily the best.

I do turn it upto 3 when shooting with a bolt action. I feel 3 mag is more practical for longer range shooting. I use Simmons 3-9X40 Wide Angle instead.
