Positive aspects of the product (pros): Good recoil, solid build, impressive to hold and shoot, cheap like the budgie
Cons: Only fires in single action(not necessarily a bad thing though)

Ok so I got my HFC Desert Eagle today in the mail and I can say that I am positively surprised at just how good it is.

The gun comes in a cheap aluminium gun case with a big(and rather cheesy) picture of the gun with some additional irrelevant lettering on it.

My gun came with a small factory cock up, as one of the screws wasn`t quite tight and it caused a part of the slide to not function properly, but it was easily fixed and I am sure it was an exception.

And now on to the most important part: The gun itsef.

If you are like me and have never previously handled a Desert Eagle, you`ll be grinning all day long and constantly wanting to shoot it.

The kick is quite surprising for an Airsoft replica and each shot has a nice crisp recoil to it.
The mags are quite big if you`re used to Glocks or M9`s like I am but the chunkiness of the mags makes reloading easier in my eyes.

The sheer length of a Desert Eagle is absolutely stunning and is indeed a head turner.
The only problem is you`re going to need a big holster, but luckily I invested in a uni-holster Smile

Some people might consider such a large gun to be unweildy, but for me it it perfect.
It`s weight is more tilted away from the player, so you may find it difficult to keep it balanced it you`re not used to holding 1.4 odd kilograms
in both your hands.

The accuracy of the HFC version of the Desert Eagle seems quite good, but I haven`t had a chance to test it on human sized targets yet so I cannot tell you anything about it`s accuracy.
The gun supposedly shoots 300 fps

Dismantling the weapon is a breeze and the gun`s manual is very helpful(and in English!) so maintenance is not really an issue.

One strange little thing is that the gun does not come with a cleaning rod, so if this is going to be your first gun make sure you buy a cleaning rod to go with it.

The top of the slide can take a scope or red dot, so if you`re into pistol sniping, you won`t be left wanting there Smile

In case you were wondering the HFC offers full compatability with Marui mags,I`m also sure that the rest of the parts are interchangeable but I`m going to have to ask you not to quote me on that:P

I would strongly recommend this gun to anyone looking for a cheap reliable and powerful gas blowback pistol for a low price.
Or who has severe manhood insecurity issues :D
Airsoft Armoury is selling the HFC Desert Eagle for about 70 pounds(or 6.99 if you want to be anal about it) now as they`re having a sale, so hurry if you want to get one for cheap Smile

UPDATE

Ok so I`ve tried to field test the gun but unfortunately it was too cold to use it without it doing a puff the magic dragon on me.

The hop up on the desert eagle took me a bit to find due to the fact that the manual does not tell you where it is.
It has the same location as the marui version and is easily adjusted while in the field.

I have noted that the gun has quite a bit of a cool down effect if you shoot it quickly.
The gas consumtion is also acceptable(I can get about two fills out of each mag)

The front sight has also got a small problem.
It`s removable and due to murphy`s law I lost my front sight today while out skirmishing(nothing superglue woulsn`t have put straight) nothing too bad, but it is a bit annoying.

Pics will be comming shortly Smile

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Amazing Value, loud , lives up to it's 'hand cannon' status
Cons: ABS plastic body (only bad thing I could think of :P)

Just adding a little extra:

I've been using propane and green gas in mine and have chrono'd the results, which are in FPS and are the first 10 shots from a fully tanked mag using 0.2g ICS BBs:

01. 321
02. 335
03. 333
04. 331
05. 330
06. 332
07. 326
08. 327
09. 309
10. 313

If you fire quickly; there is a fair bit of cool-down. This thing is a real Hand Cannon, it's loud when it blows back and I mean loud.

My only problem is the way I hold the gun, I keep pushing the slide lock up and causing the slide to prematurely lock back - but that'd just me and no fault of HFC.

What I really love is the HFC inlet valve on the mags. Unlike most inlet valves made by other companies this barely let any gas escape when charging and nearly none when full - gas only escapes if you distrub the alignment of the gas bottle and mag.

I only wish HFC would make a full metal version but at $69 for what is a copy of the TM version... well

One thing to note is the rail on the top of the gun is not your standard 20mm Rail but slightly wider (like the real thing apparently). However you can get some specific mounts (clicky).

If you don't have a DE in your collection you no longer have an excuse Smile

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Sturdy, reliable, accurate, powerful, nice blow back function, excellent value.
Cons: Not very gas efficient, but not a gas hog either.

So, I've had this wonderful little hand cannon for over a month now, and I've put roughly 600 rounds through it, and it has yet to fail me. When I say "it has yet to fail me," I mean it was dropped into a creek/stream, and it still fired afterwards with decent accuracy. (Decent being able to hit a man sized target easily at about 100 feet.)

Don't make the mistake of assuming that this is just another chinese clone. Having compared this to the original TM Desert Eagle hard kick, the two are indistinguishable from one another in terms of performance. With the hop-up adjusted to its lowest power, this thing is still extremely accurate for a hand gun. I can't imagine what installing a tightbore barrel would do to this already insane piece of firepower.

This gun takes green gas easily. In fact, I wouldn't consider using anything else. After 600+ rounds, there still aren't any stress cracks in the slide that would indicate that the gas being used is too powerful. And this gun kicks pretty hard for an airsoft gun. It's loud, too.

I chronoed the muzzle velocity of a .20g BB out of this thing using green to be roughly 325 FPS, while the outdoor temperature was at 78 degrees.

Just as a side note, the magazines used in this gun have a huge gas well, and it takes about 10 seconds to fill the resevoir. This is about how long it takes to have the mag full enough to have the slide lock back after the last round, (and still have a little bit left over for a few more shots.) The magazine capacity is 27 rounds.

This gun makes an excellent primary or secondary weapon, and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes the Desert Eagle design, or has large hands. I'm very picky about accuracy, and this gun has yet to disappoint me.
