Positive aspects of the product (pros):

Makes your gun look cool

Cons:
|
A little pricey since they are just plastic

These are basically to change the color of your weapon to Black/OD/Sand color making it look ultra cool or to make your RIS more comfortable. The extruded parts of the RIS are subject to tearing skin of your hand and because they are usually aluminum, they tend to disfigure if they are knocked around.
There are a bunch of manufacturers, but I chose the King Arms because they come in a four pack making them a little cheaper. They are made of plastic and slide over the RIS to provide protection etc. The end of the cover has a small metal clip that holds the cover in place. To remove the covers simply depress the metal clip and it will release. The metal is rather cheap so you will need to use gun oil so that it doesn’t rust – be careful though cause gun oil eats rubber o-rings! You have been warned.
