This is the 120rnd version of Mad Bulls 40mm shell line up. I must admit that I originally wanted their 49rnd shell but my supplier was out of stock. These shells are used in conjunction with a launcher or claymore and cannot be fired by themselves. You basically fill them with your choice of propellant, green/propane/red/top. You then load the shell with BBs, which can be quite time consuming especially when there’s 120 of then little buggers to put in. I find that either a auto loader or one of those thumb ones works best. When you have finished loading the shell is good to go.
The finish quality of these shells is simply amazing, the look absolutely awesome. The coloring will last the bumps and scrapes of combat, and each shell is a accurate reproduction. The mechanisms inside the shell are reliable and of quality construction. Mad Bull have designed these shells so that they do not jam or misfire like others on the market.
The range is usually the biggest concern for airsofters when it come to launchers and I went with Mad Bull cause they seemed to have the longest-range shells on the market. These particular shells will go about 60ft on propane, which is not to bad. Of course this depends on weather temperature and gas used, some Mad Bull shells even use CO2 which would prove to be the ultimate propellant for this kind of device. Firing these shells results in a cloud of white vapor at the end of your barrel and a hail of BBs spreading everywhere. The BBs are held in place by an o-ring to prevent them from comming out, this o-ring also acts as a hop unit for the shell that aids in creating a nice spread at the business end of things
I’m satisfied with this product, however they are expensive coming in at about US$60 per shell – I can however attest that these are pretty much the best shells you can currently get.
