Arnie has once reviewed this product in the old review section. http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/?filnavn=/reviews/ai_propane_adapter/ai_propane_adapter_review.htm
which already covered all the basic things such as the research data showing propane is chemically equivalent to green gas (except the small bit of lubricant now added to green gas), and how to use this device.
The one I got is a newer version from Airsoft Atlanta. In this newer version, the nozzle, spring, and collar are all connected, and there's no risk of losing any part except maybe the cap.
It is extremely easy to use: just screw the adaptor onto a propane canister, and you are ready to go.
Two notes:
1. Commercial propane really stinks. It is not because of propane's chemical composition, but because the manufacturer intentionally adds some stinky oder to the propane, so people can easily detect any leak. (It's probably required by law)
2. Commercial propane does not contain lubricant, and it is important to drop a couple drop of silicon lubricant on top of the propane valve every a few mags. Or alternatively, keep your guns well lubed.
Is this thing worth the money? You bet if you are playing with gas guns that eat green gas a lot. A 1100ml can of green gas costs around $10 to $15, and a can of propane that's a few times more than a can of green gas costs only $2 to $3.

The smell

Well there isn't much for me to say as Shao seems to have covered it all. I'd like to disagree by saying that to me Benzomatic propane (from B&Q) didn't smell any worse than green gas.
Also for you UK guys don't worry about postage. I bought the adapter and a bottle of silicone oil off airsoft-innovations.com and the postage was only $2 (around £1.15). It wasn't slow delivery either. Had arrived within 4 days.

I bought my AI Propane Adaptor version 4 from the manufacturer. I purchased the adaptor along with silicone oil for $35. Shipping time was one week.
I purchased this adaptor with the intent of using alot of gas for my full auto GBB. I've read alot of complaints that propane smells, but its really not so bad, although it does leave sort of an after-smell. I bought some Coleman Propane from Target for about $2.50. Installation was a cinch, just screw the adaptor onto the propane cannister and use it like a normal can of green gas. I gave my G23F a fill. Very fun.
The added bonus of using Propane is that Propane tanks are required to have a pressure release valve for safety purposes, which green gas cans do not have. With this, and the facts that Green Gas cans store less gas and can cost $10-15 more than Propane, I see no reason, other than smell, not to buy one of these adaptors.

There are few products that I consider a MUST HAVE for airsoft. The Propane adapter is one of those MUST HAVE items. It has saved me hundreds of dollars on Green gas and I have seen no difference in the two years I have used it with my pistols.
I use it both on my KSC Glock 19 and my TM MK-23. Just keep your gun well lubed and a drop of silicone in the injector before loading up.
I have a gen 2 adapter that is in two parts that I tied together with a string so I wouldn't lose the parts. I still love it and use it every time I play airsoft (weather permitting)
As mentioned before Green Gas is not required to have a pressure releafe valve in the can, propane is, making it safer to store and carry. I still wouldn't leave it in the sun on a hot day but it is safer all the way around.
A must have item for anyone with GBBs who likes to use them.
