There has been an old review of this vest in the old review section
http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/?filnavn=/reviews/bh_omega_tacvest/bh_omega_tacvest_review.htm
And I had own a replica once, and wrote a review of the replica in
the forum
http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=21147
The replica didn't seem too sturdy, especially around the stitches
on the cross draw holster though it didn't break before I sold it. I
happened to come across a sale of the real Blackhawk gear on ebay,
and bought the real thing at a discounted price (I listed the retail
price for this vest above, but that's not the discounted price I
paid).
Here's the description from Blackhawk "Adjustable web strap and side
release buckle for a silent draw -Inside zippered map pockets and
(3) utility pouches -Each pouch uses elastic to hold mags secure
when flap is open -BTS Webbing fits any BlackHawk Pouch with
A.L.I.C.E. Clips -Hook & loop strip for ID patch -Fully adjustable
shoulders and girth and emergency drag handle -Belt loops hold a web
belt for a variety of holsters and tactical gear -Heavy-duty
separating #10 YKK Vislon zipper -(3) adjustable mag pouches: (2)
MP-5, (2) M-16, (1) .308, (1) 7.62 x 39 -Wt: 2 lbs 5 oz. "
Since there has been thorough reviews of this or replica of this
vest, I'll assume the reader already knows how many pouches there
are, and where they are, and I'll just share a few of my personal
thoughts that aren't covered in the above reviews.
Firstly, I'll re-emphasize again this Blackhawk vest is very sturdy,
much more so than the replica I once owned. I've tried to pull and
stretch various parts on the vest, and there's no sign of wear at
all.
Unlike the replica, the pistol holster is much more securely
stitched onto the vest; the zipper does not automatically slip down
even after running around several games.
The mag pouches, however, are extremely tight when new, and with two
M4 mags in a pouch, I have trouble pulling them out of the pouch.
After leaving the M4 mags in the pouch for couple of months, the pouch
loosened up a bit, and now it's more reasonable to pull or push mags
out or in the pouch (but still fairly tight, so no worries that
they'll ever fall out even if you don't use the mag pouch flap).
The pistol holster can now accommodate almost all medium sized
pistols. I've tested the TM Sig, Hi Capa, KSC USP .45, G17, WA
Kimber, and they all fit perfectly with a bit adjustment of the
holster strap.
That's pretty much all I have to add to the old review, and in
conclusion, this is an excellent vest for operators require high
speed low drag. Very sturdy feel, but those mag pouches do need a
fair bit of broken in before they can be easily used. |
