To date the best site, and so far the furthest site that I have been to.
As a team, we are trying to get to every site that looks half decent, or recommended to us by other players. We dont see the point of getting stuck at a local site. None of us are particularly local to each other anyway, so we always have to drive a bit here and there. We want to experience what the UK, and for some of our richer members, what the world of airsoft has to offer us.
Ground Zero just oozes gameplay. None of your short games in sight here. Just one, all day long game with pre determined scenarios that happen at set times throughtout the day. These seems to change every week. This is the only site that we have been to where you are run as a team, and not just allowed to run off. It works so much better as objectives get complete without everyone going round in circles wondering what is happeing.
The site is so big, in the few times I have played there, I have still not explored everywhere. There are secret bases, bunkers, tunnel complexes and much more. The site is well put together and looks like it came off the battlefield, other than just being thrown together out of what site owners can get their hands on. The money that players pay seems to go back into the site with a new CQB area up and running soon.
Games are run fortnightly, like most sites, with weekenders and nite games run throughtout the year. Sunday games start at 10am thru till around 4.30pm. There is plenty of on site parking and big crowds always attend. There are decent toilets for both male and female, and running water on site. They have the usual snacks and hot food on site, and also have a small shop selling a range of items.
As with most sites they do the usual gun and gear hire, great for first timers. FPS limits are 350 for AEG, 425 for semi snipers and 500 for bolt action, limits that with properly controlled minimum engagement distances make for a much more realistic game than 328fps snipers! On this site they play a proper role.
If you think airsoft is just ok, or are getting bored of your old site, get down to GZ. Check their website and forum for dates and more info.
