I try to be unbiased in all my reviews, but this one is going to be difficult.
Excel BBs represent to many the standard in top quality BBs, but I can't understand why.
I've used most types of BBs in my time and I have never come across a brand of BBs that managed to find as many ways of annoying me as Excel, and here's why...
- Excel 0.20g BBs are TOO SMALL! I had a problem with my TM Desert Eagle and TM Hi-Capa (my favorite GBBs) where the BBs were falling out of the barrel immediately after the slide scooped them from the magazine in to the breech. I tried several different bottles of Excel 0.20g BBs but none fixed the problem, neither did replacing the guns or components thereof. The problem was only fixed when I bought some "Goldfire" BBs. To further enforce this theory, my USP Compact magazines hold 1 more BB if I load them with Excel, than loading them with any other brand!
- Add to this that Excel repeatedly claim that their BBs are biodegradable when independant scientific tests have proven them not to be, and my opinion of Excel BBs is lowered further (link).
Yet EVERY time I ask someone what the best brand of BB is they say "Excel" (industry insiders included). Why is this? What actually makes the Excels better in their opinion? It's just a small ball of plastic after all, and my experiences indicate that Excels are causing more problems than any other brand I have used.
They are satisfactory in most AEGs, but there is nothing to make them exceptional. They are accurate enough and a lot better than the cheap market-stall BBs, but the problems I have experienced mean that they will never be a favourite of mine.
Overall, I give these BBs a 6 out of 10. Better than the cheapest tat you can buy, but a long way off what could be described as "good".------------------------------ New and inspiring signature coming to an R22 post near you SOON...

Just to add to R22's review ive also had problems with excel bbs. Whenever i asked on the forums which bbs i should buy i was allways pointed in the direction of these ones. However now i probably won't be buying them again.
I bought two of the 3,000 round bottles for use at a skirmish and found them to be well made- no obvious seams, roughness or mishapes. I sprayed some silicone lubricant into both bottles, just to make sure they fed properly and loaded up my mags.
What i found out is that the TM AEG i was using (the Beta Spetsnaz) would easily feed them, yet my Glock 19 GBB was double feeding the rounds and basically not working right. I never had these problems with the HFC BBs that i had used previously so i can only assume that the tolerances of the excel bbs were good enough for the AEG, but too far out for the complex GBB.
I would buy these again if i was a hicap player or a support gunner, but i'll be feeding my GBB bb's of another brand in future.

I buy these bbs for the following reasons:
They are cheap, and they are availbe from the skirmish site I vist.
They work in all the guns availble to me.
Contary to the above reviews, my Excel .20g bb's (in a bag of 3700) are excellent.
I have never found a rough edge to them. They work excellent in the following guns:
TM G36C (3 of them)
VSR-10
M733
G3 SG1
G3 SAS
G23 Advance
The list goes on. The only problem I have found with them is that they don't degrade fully.
Even so, I reccomend these, I have never had a problem with them that directly effect me or my guns, they are cheap and you get alot for you money.
8 out of 10, as angelfire (I think) and Gold Fire I found better. |

Just to add to the fury and further prove excel's are inferior.
When I cut my tightbore shorter to fit a gun, I forgot to crown the edges so there were occasional bb jams at the muzzle. Sometimes as much as it flying 45 degrees straight up and almost hit my glass window.
Before I finally crowned it though I did a test.
I inserted Excel's .20, .25, and KSC .25 from the muzzle end to see if they slide thru. The excels had 1/8 chance that the bb will actually be stuck at the 6.04mm muzzle without crowning.
The KSC however goes thru perfect.
Which after reading http://www.airsoftmechanics.com bb review, makes me think that on average the excel's are smaller than 6mm but 1 in 8, it actually goes bigger than 6.04, and if you have a 6.03 barrel in your AEG, you'll pull your hair.

i brought this from eliteairsoftuk and after reading all these reviews i thought i wish i had'nt orderd these. I brought 3 bottles of 3,000 each. However i find these bbs to work perfect in every gun i have tried them in, AEG and GBB. To me they seem the same quality as marui but at half the price. Buy them

Well I used to run a site and we ordered 0.20g in bulk every 6 months for over 10 years. We used 0.20g MARUI as a standard for years. one year (many Airsofters may remember) 0.20g were impossible to get in the UK. So we went onto 0.25g and after going through 50,000 we decided that we all prefered 0.20g and we went back onto them.
Then EXCEL came out and we bought a few boxes and compared them to TM. We found them to be equal in our eyes after long and thorough testing and debate. We swapped over onto EXCEL as they are cheaper, you get more in abag than TM and they were supposedly bio degradable.
Only a while later did we discover this was an out and out lie about them degrading. They will last pretty much for ever it turns out.
We bought 50 thousand TOY TEC 0.20g and found them to be seriously worse quality (and accuracy)than the EXCEL brand and stuck to them ever since.
These pellets are fine and work well in AEG's and MAEP's can't really comment about GBB's I have never bothered with them.
Be sure to remove the staple on the top of the pack, so it doesn't fall inside and end up going into your gun! (it happens you know).
Buy them if your site allows them. A cheap and reliable pellet for most Airsoft guns, despite their bad press.
Just make sure you do not spray silicone inside the bag (to make sure they feed well (LOL!).... this will cause problems). Currently an offer allows you to get something like 18000 of these for under 30 pounds in the UK! Bargain.------------------------------ Back from ENDURO 2009.

I'd just like to say, I've used Excel BB's for a few years now, and have had no problems at all. They have never jammed my gun, or have I seen them fragment.
The only jam I have ever experienced was my Classic Army high-cap got jammed.

These BB's are perhaps the most popular BB's in Finland. Out of four people, sometimes even three use them, and I can't see why it is the case. They have a great reputation here, everytime someone asks which BB brand to use on his/her Prometheus tight bore barrel, everyone answers Excel.
I have used a bag or two of these, and I'm not impressed at all. Seam lines, unpolished appearance. They even stuck on my BB loader and my little brothers springer. Somehow they still fed pretty well in my AEG and gave better accuracy than most cheaper brands like LH. Moderate BB's, though I will stick on Marui, soon KSC.

I recently purchased a CA M15A4 and decided to try it out with some KSC bbs. However my dad bought me some excells instead so I thought "They must be terrible" when I read the reviews.
Please note:I bought a bag if these and the bag stated it was NEW.
i inspected the bbs, and so far they were all very smooth and shiny, no deformations etc... You can see seam lines but they're actually flat if you feel it over and roll the bb around.
I loaded my hicap and went outside. The bb flew straight in semi-auo. It hadly deviated off-course, and same on full auto. Occasionaly (1/10) a bb would fly out the barrel at a slightly different angle, and that is the only negative comment I have.

i bought a bottle of 6000 excel .2g bbs for 12 GBP. my tm sr-16 has a 6.04mm barrel. during a fire fight one bb jammed and because of the backwards preasure caused from a few bbs jamming managed to break my cylinder head, air nozzle and piston head. thats 30 GBP worth of parts.
i mswitching to KSC bbs now.

I started out with Marui 0.20g in my old GBBs, and when I got my first AEG, I bought some Excel 0.23g. They seemed to be about the same quality, perhaps slightly rougher in finish, and I never had a problem with them.
I still haven't had a problem with them in my newer AEG, but I've been starting to consider other brands, as I keep reading reviews of Excels talking about how they're smaller than they should be etc. etc.
Like I said, I never had a problem with them, so I would still recommend them... Though I never used them in any GBBs, so I can't talk about that.
I think I might try Airsoft Elite next as they're supposedly a little better.------------------------------
