Pros: Fully adjustable
Cons: Takes time to bed in

When buying a holster the main consideration is what gun you’re trying to house. Small medium or large, with or without a light etc etc. Now while it may be obvious that the custom made holsters specific to a certain gun or accessory layout are by far the best fit, they only suit a specific pistol, with or without a light. For those people that are completing a specific load out, or that will only ever own one pistol of the same type this is fine but for most people it isn’t flexible enough.

This is where the Guarder Tornado Tactical Holster comes into a world of its own. While there are other adjustable holsters on the market, and even in Guarder’s line up, in my opinion this one far surpasses them all. This holster comes recommended by many people, and if you can afford to pay out for a quality holster this should definitely be on your list of options.

Constructed out of 1000D Cordura, this is one heavy duty holster. It’s very stiff to start with and does take some bedding in to a point where an easy draw and re-holster but it will always keep its shape regardless how many times you lay on it. It features ITW Nexus and PULL-THE-DOT® three sided locking snap fasteners. The holster is adjustable by use of Velcro, and this doubled up everywhere. While being a pain to adjust, and there is a technique to it, once positioned it will not shift regardless how hard you pull on it. This allows it to be adjusted for any size gun, with or without a light or other under slung accessory.

The three sided locking faster (thumb release) works with a popper and a Velcro closure over the top. When not in use both can be used, but when continuous use is need, the Velcro can be held back and just the popper used. This thumb release section which is adjustable for height is the hardest bit to adjust. I myself have taken this out of where it was originally housed and fixed it on the outside and also secured it under the main flap of the body. This can be seen in these two pictures.

The main body can be adjusted for the depth of the pistol or if being used with a taclight, and also you can adjust how far the pistol sits into the holster. The holster can be belt or thigh mounted and is adjustable once again for drop distance, for even the longest of legs. There are plenty of restraining straps to hold the unit in place when adjusted and to stop it edges of the closures being caught and pulled open. If being used as a belt holster, the leg straps can be removed totally. If being used as a drop leg holster, the leg straps can be adjusted for every size leg and are non slip. A pistol mag pouch is also positioned on the front of the holster to carry a spare.

A great all round holster to suit the needs of every owner with multiple pistols.
