Positive aspects of the product (pros): powerful, cheap, accurate, good looks
Cons: rubbish magazine,

KWC's Colt M1991-A1 springer pistol is a nice little springer that's available to buy from pretty much anywhere.

(and yes, it IS M1991 not M1911)

I got into the Colt pistols after getting a Colt Delta Elite back in 1999. This is the 3rd Colt spring pistol i've had in the past 6 years (the first being the Delta Elite, the second being TM's Colt Government and the third being the M1991-A1)

This pistol has quite a lot going for it. It has a nice weight to it and is quite powerful too! (clocked in at 285fps at ArnieGeddon '04) and is fairly accurate out to about 30 feet (man sized target) The only thing i detest about this gun is the cack magazine which is wafer thin and a pain to load (just like the Delta Elite's was) On the right side of the magazine you must pull down the spring retainer until it clicks. Then with your other hand you must lift the BB stopper on the top of the mag and at the same time pour the BB's in (approx 15) being careful not to catch the spring lock release near the bottom of the mag on the left hand side (otherwise... WHOOOSH! Raining BB's...)

Once the magazine is loaded, carefully place it into the pistol (i found that once you've got the mag halfway in, giving it a sharp slap upwards prevents the BB's from coming out prematurely into the chamber) The slide pull is very smooth and slides forward with a "Ker-lack" the triggerpull is also very nice. Safety is located near the rear of the slide above the thumb on your firing hand (if you're right handed) If you're left handed whilst trying to use this gun, then undoubtedly you'll end up cursing as the safety snaps on as you try to rack a shot or the magazine button will deposit the magazine unceremoniously at your feet.

There is also a take down lever on this pistol which is located on the left of the frame, just above the trigger (i've not actually tried it myself on this model, so if you try it and the gun falls to bits, don't blame me!) which allows for easy disassembly.

Not a bad pistol in my eyes and if KWC had sorted out the magazine and done something like Marui's new Colt Government springer (chunky magazine), then they could have been on to a winner.

Darklite: Actually, I was using my AK - the shottie I had lent to Tink at that point.

*suitcase*, I best go and check it still works.
