I'd been after another spring Beretta for a while as i wasn't really impressed with Marui's M9 springer offering (too light, awkward to grip and load a round...) So i invested in a HFC springer model. There are four versions available (to the best of my knowledge) 2 versions with the underbarrel RIS and compensator (black & two-tone models) and 2 without the rail and compensator (colours as above)
First impressions - this pistol is quite heavy for a springer (i think it's around the 700g mark) Not quite as heavy as the KWC Desert Eagle, but a fair runner-up.
The magazine is a heavy plastic affair with weights added to give it a hefty feel and can hold around 20 or so BB's (0.2g i found were quite good) Once the magazine is loaded it can then be inserted with a heavy "Click" into the gun. The safety on this gun is located above the trigger on the left hand side (what would be the slide hold-open mechanism on real steel and GBB gas pistols.) Up for Safety on, down for off. The ambidextrous safety found on a real beretta is here on the back of the slide, but unfortunately does not work (moulded plastic which can't be moved) Pulling the slide back on the Super Elite has to be the smoothest action i've ever used on any springer pistol (much easier and smoother to use than Marui's M9 springers) and sounds meaty when the slide is operated. Sights are non-adjustable moulded plastic but can give accurate groupings out to around 20 feet or so. The front sight has a white dot painted to give better accuracy in low-light conditions.
Power is around 200fps+ (approx) and can easily compete with some of the Marui springer pistols. The underbarrel Rail is a standard 20mm weaver mount and can accommodate lasers, taclights or even the mini grenade launchers! (i kid you not, although WHY you'd want to put a mini Moscart launcher onto a springer pistol is beyond me...)
The Compensator doesn't do anything to the sound of the weapon being fired (just "Eye-Candy") but makes the gun look larger (marginally smaller than a standard Desert Eagle .50AE) The only gripe i have with this gun (with the obvious exception that it's a single shot springer), is the fact that the rail and compensator are painted a dull grey (couldn't HFC have matched the colour to the rest of the gun?)
Apart from that and the fact that you'll need a larger holster to safely hold it, there's not really much that i can say against this pistol. It's cheap, powerful and has a minor passing resemblance to Marui's Barry Burton Samurai Edge custom GBB pistol (without the S.T.A.R.S. grips or the custom slide...)
Overall, a nice spring pistol to have.

*suitcase*, I best go and check it still works.
