Pros:
|
Excellent finish, sturdy good markings and weight
|
|
Cons:
|
requires some work to fit a crane stock and filing on some areas
|
|
I bought this from Zero one - excellent service again on their part I might add - to finish off my M4 conversion to a CQBR.
The package arrived in a plain box with HurricanE logos on. the body was securely contained in foam along with the action receiver package, body pins and metal hop. All in all very impressive and good value. The body was beautifully finished in black paint with clear white etchings where appropriate. Construction wise it was a good fit between each part with a nice click when the two receivers were seated correctly.
Assembly
first of all you will need to save some bits from your rifle, namely the charging handle, the hop rubber and bucking, the ejection port covers inside and flip down outer, the springs, fire selector, bolt release, triggeer guard and mag release as these are all reused in the reassembley.
HurricanE also include their action receiver package with this kit which mimics the action of the real steel and TM M4 by exposing the ejection port when the charging handle is pulled back. A really nice touch and the only company to do so.
The provided instructions are illustrated and clear creating no problems for fitting the whole thing together. I won't go into detail re fitting as I might write that up later.
PROS
Tight tolerances make for a good fit
Sturdy construction
Looks FANTASTIC
CONS
Tight tolerances make for a good fit! too good at times, you might well need to file down some areas to remove the paint so that mags will fit and stock tubes can be fitted.
Would I buy it again? Yes definitely! It is an excellent piece of kit and looks fantastic on the finished gun completed with a G&P CQBR front end. the filing is a niggle but a minor one.
The biggest gripe I have is with all metal bodies at present. ALL require modding to fit a crane stock with batteries to the best of my knowledge anyway. With the proliferation of these stocks and the batteries maybe manufacturers could pre cut them to save you having to take a dremel to you new £130 metal body - it can be nerve wracking!!
