Description: The standard for Airsoft Gas. This gas will work with most Airsoft Gas Operated Guns and is the standard to which all other gasses are measured.

In most guns, this gas should give approximately 1 Joule of muzzle energy, making it ideal for skirmishing and plinking alike.

NOTE: This gas provides a relatively high level of power that not all guns can safely handle. If you are in any doubt, check with your Airsoft supplier to see if Green / TOP Gas can be used in your gun safely.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Consistant, Cheap, Robust container
Cons: Not as good quality lubricant as some more expensive gasses, unsuitably powerful for some guns

In my opinion, this is about the best Airsoft gas you can get.

HFC Green Gas has been long established as the standard gas for Gas Operated Airsoft Models and for good reason. It provides power levels that are ideal for skirmishing and plinking alike, it contains a small amount of lubricant that helps you avoid constant maintenance, and it is one of the cheapest Airsoft gasses you can buy.

HFC Green Gas is essentially Propane with a hydrocarbon-safe lubricant inside. As it is largely propane, it is flammable, so caution is advised. However, you can fill up your cigarette lighter with the stuff as I do, which gives it a handy secondary use.

This gas provides excellent power for your Airsoft guns, and I have measured a few of mine - the results shown below (all are measured with 0.20g BBs)...

Marui Hi-Capa = 318fps
KWA Glock 19/23f = 312fps
WE Hi-Capa = 315fps
Marui Desert Eagle Hardkick = 330fps
KWA USP Compact = 308fps
Tanaka Chief Special = 318fps
Maruzen MP5kA4 GBB = 310fps *

* = Green Gas is normally NOT suitable for this gun, as breakage will result (link).

The lubricant level in this gun is just about right in my opinion. If it were any lower, the gun would dry up and wear out quickly. If it were any higher, the HOP-UP would become over-lubed and shot accuracy would decline. However, it is important to remember that regular lubrication of rails, slide, and other parts that the gas does not touch is still required for fault-free gun operation.

The main plus to me though is the price. This is about the cheapest Airsoft gas you can get and every can is the same, giving excellent consistancy between refills.

Green Gas however is powerful. If you need a weak powered gas, 134a is the one to go for. Green Gas however is more powerful and comes with certain inherent risks. Using Green Gas on a VERY hot day can result in many different models breaking. As ambient heat increases, so does the ability for gas to expand. The faster the gas expands, the more powerful it becomes in Airsoft terms. Using a gas that is too powerful may result in breakages in some guns. Check with your supplier to determine whether Green Gas is suitable for your gun.

I give this gas 10 out of 10 because it does everything I want it to do. It is the only gas I use any more, except for the hottest days of the year.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): cheap and contains silicon lubricant
Cons: -

theres not really much to say after R22s nice and long review Nah! apart from that this is a very good quality gas, it's cheap, has lubricant in it (as R22 said, just the right amount)and comes in fairly large bottles of 1100ml.

i use this in all my gas guns (macs, glocks, uspc...) and i haven't ever had a problem with it, it's also the only gas i use at the moment.

great gas, powerful and well worth the money.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): More powerful than other brands of Green gas
Cons: Er.... Don't like the colour purple...that's about it.

I used to use another brand of Green Gas, and one day the retailer was out of it, only having this left.

I had always avoided it as it was about 3/4 the price of my regular stuff...

In fact, it's cheaper, smells nicer and gives more power.

Gah.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): More powerful than HFC134a, also cheaper, otherwise all green gas is the same
Cons: Will damage guns not designed for it and will reduce any guns lifespan over HFC134a, otherwise all green gas is the same

Green gas is green gas. There is no difference between many of the brands of green gas out there. Propane always releases the same energy when decompressed, so ALL green gas should be the same power. I suppose the only possible difference is the ratio of silicone to propane. I find that this gas does not have enough silicone to do anything but give it its name. I sprayed this stuff on a piece of paper and when the gas evaporated, the paper was quite dry. I suppose there is a "thin" layer of silicone residue left on. If you fire alot, it may build up and be useful. Besides, the higher the ratio of silicone, the weaker the gas's power is because the silicone displaces the propane's gas pressure. Pure propane from a gas grill tank with a propane adaptor is supposed gives more power because of the LACK of silicone, about 20 FPS faster. I lube my guns alot anyway, practically every time I put them away, so silicone mix doesn't really appeal to me. I would rather have higher pressure than lubrication - I should just get the propane adapter, 85% cheaper and 5% more powerful. Note that this stuff is also called TOP gas, or HFC22. Now, I'll compare in general green gas to HFC134a:

In comparason to HFC134a, this gas is cheaper and will generate alot more FPS and stronger blowback. However, it will damage guns not designed for it. My KSC USP .45 deteriorated because of the use of green gas in stock form and even after a metal slide and barrel upgrade, the internals desintergrated. First, the plastic slide broke after 4,000 shots, then after another 1,000 shots the hop-up rubber desintergrated away from the higher pressure and wouldn't even hold BBs in, then the piston deformed and needs grease to slide properly. WARNING: DO NOT USE GREEN GAS OUT OF *ANY* KSC GBB NO MATTER WHAT IS SAID! THIS GAS WILL EVENTUALLY BE THE PREMATURE DEATH OF IT!! Now my KSC USP is officially dead after only 7,000 shots and needs another hop-up unit and piston. On the other hand, HFC134a is barely acceptable in my KJ M9, which barely cycles with it and shoots low. I've fired that gun 7,000 times with .2g BBs and green gas and it still shoots good, and at this rate, I'll can see myself getting another 10,000 shots before any problems. I recommend only using green gas in guns that are STOCK FULL METAL. All WE, KJ and HFC guns take this gas with no problems. This gas will reduce the lifespan of your gun over HFC134a no matter what the gun is designed to use. Green gas puts more stress on the gun and it will reduce its lifespan.

In all this gas is good stuff for your FULL METAL gas gun that is designed to use it. Only use this in plastic Japanese guns if you want to kill them prematurely. You should get 10,000 shots before your gun has any problems. If not, you are using the wrong gas. Green gas is stronger than HFC134a but gentler than red gas, so it's a perfect combination of power and durability.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): works well
Cons: can dent the nozzle easily

Not bad stuff, although it's dead easy to damage the fill nozzle on these cans
