I'm a cheap kinda guy. Let's get that out of the way first.
If I can get something cheap, I get it cheap, in most cases. Airsoft is no exception. When I saw a TM MP5A4 for sale for £90, I jumped on it. As I am such a cheapskate, though, I purchased the gun without a battery. While christmas shopping in bristol late last year, I stumbled upon an RC Model Shop (Read - my parents parked next to it). I took a chance and sauntered in, and asked the shop assistant if they had any Sub-C Cell batteries with a large tamiya connector.
Luck was on my side. They had three of these batteries (though the other two were 1800 packs for the same price) for only fifteen quid - so, I got one.
Once I got it home and charged, I slapped it into my MP5 and let rip. It took a few attempts to get it into the stock correctley, but that was a wiring problem.
The ROF is good. as can be expected with an 8.4v battery. you get the usual trigger lag, and you won't be eating your way through hicaps in mere seconds, butit gets the job done.
The pack has no trouble turning over the gearbox in my MP5, which has had a 1J spring put in, but is otherwise stock.
My main concern with this pack is with teh cells - I have no idea how good they are compared to, say, sanyo cells. They're not a big brand (well, I'd never heard of them.. doesn't say much, though!), and I haven't been able to find any specifications, so the actualy quality could be a bit dubious.
Overall, though, a great battery pack. Cheap as you can get (the 600mAh mini packs on Airsoftscotland cost a fiver more!), and lasts for a whole day - depending on your play style.
As a last word, though - I've never seen these in online stores - I just happened across it in a high street. If anyone finds these for sale online, give me a shout!
