This is the new BB loader from TM, I have 3 of the pistol mag sized ones which I was happy with apart from the low BB capacity, I seemed to be constantly filling them up. Tokyo Marui must have read my mind as they have now released this, with a quoted 470 round capacity compared with the 120 rounds of the old pistol sized one.
I ordered 2 of these from ZERO ONE http://www.zerooneairsoft.com at £12.99 each, they were dispatched and in my eager hands within 3 days. On the back of the packet are instructions in japanese, luckily there are good diagrams and besides, it's very easy to use anyway.
Included in the packaging is an adapter, however I don't know what it's for. The pistol magazine adapter folds over from a concealed section at the top of the loader and clicks into place. This is great as I was always losing the adapters for my old style ones.
Whilst testing with various magazines I was going to count the BB's to check the capacity, unfortunately after starting I realised I did not have the patience do do so. I would estimate that 470 is an accurate ammount.
Apart from the high capacity and the fixed on pistol adapter, the 2 other improvements are a small sliding switch on the base whitch holds in and releases the plunger and a sliding plate over the hole you pour BB's into. Both of these are better in my opinion compared with the old style one, which would quite often release the plunger when chucked in a pocket/mag pouch etc. this ended in one of the plungers snapping on my old one.
To use it is siplicity itself: You slide the plate open on the base, pour in BB's till it's full, close the plate, release the plunger, press against the mag to be loader and squeeze the plunger till it full. Each squeeze loads 4 BB's.
I tried it with M16 and M14 G&P midcaps and with TM Sig P226,KWA Glock 19 and KWA UPS pistol mags and they all loaded fine. There were a couple of times when they did not stack correctly but this happened with the old ones and can be sorted with a quick shake of the mag.
There were also a couple of times the loader needed a shake whilst loading to ensure smooth feeding.
To sum up, this loader is alot quicker than the tube style ones and the increased capacity conbined with the other improvements over the old pistol mag style loader, ensures this will be an essential part of your load out if you use low/midcap mags or do alot of pistol shooting. As I do both I think it is great. It also fits nicely into a mag pouch as it's the same shape and size as a M16 mag. The only thing stopping it getting a 10 is the fact that it sometimes needs a shake to keep it running.
------------------------------ Long live the M14 Brotherhood!
