Introduction
After the success of polymer framed pistols such as the Glocks and USPs, Sig Sauer followed suit, and started the Sig Pro line. The reputation of Sig Sauer pistols is well known and respected among law enforcement worldwide, and the Sig Pro quickly gained popularity. The real steel Sig Pro 2340 chambers the .40 S&W.
This review is for the Soft Air heavy weight replica of the Sig Pro 2340, and in the rest of this review, I shall use Sig Pro to refer to this replica unless otherwise explicitly specified.

The Sig Pro sure does look nice. The paint is even, and there are nicely engraved licensed trademarks, even on the magazine. There's also a Cybergun logo on the left. I am not certain what relation Cybergun and Soft Air is. Soft Air appears to be just a distributor for Cybergun. The gun also feels very comfortable to hold. Because it is the heavy weight version, there's dead weight in the gun to make the gun feel more accurate to the weight of the real steel. There are also lost of metal parts, which is rare for springers. Metal parts include the hammer, the trigger, and the control levers.
Performance
The magazine is full size, and is loaded from the top by pushing the BBs in one by one. The slide pull is all right, pretty short. The trigger has only DA position, but the hammer can be cocked back. One nice feature is the locking slide. When the magazine is empty in the gun, racking the slide will cause the slide to lock back, so the shooter knows right away it's time to reload. The decocking lever is fake but movable.
If one buys the gun for the above purposes only, this is an excellent gun. But if one actually wants to shoot it, the gun becomes worthless. The trigger pull is extremely hard, next to impossible to shoot. Good thing that the trigger is metal, or else it'd certainly be broken after the second shot. I hope this is a defect in my copy, but I have not tried other Soft Air or Cybergun, so can't really comment on that. Base on my copy of the gun, it's the worst shooting experience among my airsoft guns. The accuracy is none-existent since I can't really pull the trigger while keeping the sights lined up. The power is mediocre if not low even for springers.
Conclusion
In conclusion, buy this gun if you want the heavy weight feel, the look, the trademarks, the metal parts, and the slide locking feature. Forget about this gun if you ever want to shoot it. |
