EOTech 511.A65 Holographic Weapon Sight
Manufacturer: EOTech (USA)
Type: Holographic Weapon Sight
With the assistance of AEX... I finally bit the bullet... Brought home the EOTech 511.A65 Holographic Weapon Sight.

So the big questions are:
Q: Is it worth $350.00+???
A: If you can afford it, then yes. But for airsoft players with limited budgets, the Chinese copy aimpoints and redots work just fine.
Q: Are the optics that much better then a sub $100.00 reddot?
A: Yes, build wise this things rugged and was built to take a beating. If the lens gets damaged, the holographic dot will try and work on a non damaged portion of the lens. It's waterproof adn sinc eit was built for real steel rifles, very shock proof. The holographic dot is extremly bright shows up easily in direct sunlight.

I went with the N size battery model for the shorter looks. The AA version while physically longer, has a much longer battery life.

Features:
Waterproof 10 feet or 33 feet depending on model
4 or 8 Hour Auto Shutdown
200 Hour (N Battery) or 1100 Hour (AA Battery)
Battery Life
Reticle is 65 MOA ring with 1 MOA dot

Putting my money where my mouth is...
OMFG The A.I.C.S. is NOT an L96, AWP or AWM!!!

*NOTE: this review if for the 512.A65 model*
So I've wanted an EOTech (or equivalent) for quite some time now. At first I was pleased to learn of the new HurricanE replicas and thought about getting one of those. I figured since it was a replica, it should be under $100. Wrong! The replicas were about $185 before tax and shipping and about $220 after. So I did some serious thinking and figured if I'm willing to spend that much, I might as well buy the real thing. So I found a site that sells EOTech's at a much lower price than anywhere else I've seen. I bought the 512.A65 Tactical HWS from www.miragetechnologies.net.
The next day, I received my glorious package.
*I do not have pictures since I have no camera, if you are looking for pictures...sorry.*
Upon opening, I found a beautifully designed piece of machinery. Made in the good 'ol USA, this sight feels incredibly solid...all metal. It was a wonderful look and functions perfectly. The lens is solid (supposedly bullet resistant), and is completely sealed to encase nitrogen in order to prevent any fogging. The laser that produces the reticle is very nicely displayed. The further the sight is away from the eye, the larger the reticle. I mounted this thing on my CA M15 Carbine and man does it look awesome. My only concern is my front iron sight. Since the EOTech sits so low on the receiver, it is directly behind the front sight which almost blocks your view when looking through the sight. I might grab a low profile scope riser to solve this....either that or replace the front sight with a flip-up variant.
Either way this thing is amazing and worth every penny so far. This weekend will be the first time putting it to use. I have shot some rounds with it and the target aquisition speed that you receive with this beauty is everything you've ever heard about and more! Why spend $220 on a fake when the real thing is only $100 more? Thats right...this EOTech was $319 new! I've never seen a new 512 for less than $377. I know its only $60 difference, but hey, thats what pushed me into the decision of going for the real thing.
Hope this review is somewhat helpful. Its my first one so please dont bash it. If you want to offer constructive criticism, thats fine. Again, sorry for no pictures.
