Note: This is the magazine that made me want to be part of The NAM Staff, this review is written before I was on the staff.
To be honest, when it comes to this sport, there isn't really anything you can't find online. But at the same time, who can you really trust who does a review, or writes an article? In most cases, the average review is from the viewpoint of a biased writer. How many times have you seen someone glorify Marui? It's true they're a great company, but so many "kids" writing reviews today do not see past this. Another thing is, can you really trust the average "joe" to know how to do a good, solid review? Most people just look at the externals, and very rarely do any field testing, besides shooting their gun in their room.
I was searching for a review on a gun, and I don't remember what I googled, but a link showed, and I was amazed. It was for an airsoft magazine in... ENGLISH! And to top that off, it's right here, in the US! WOW! The NAM: National Airsoft Magazine is the only US based airsoft magazine, and it's all in English, so you don't have to guess what the captions say, or hope to have a friend who speaks Japanese! I ordered a magazine that moment. I was impressed with shipping. It came in 2 days (they ship priority). I opened the packaging, and started reading. As of right now, they are only in black and white, but after talking with the guys at the magazine, they hope to be in colour soon. But to be honest, black and white is not a problem for me at all. It gives it this, homegrown feeling. It's a magazine that you can relate to, and you can learn something from them. I also managed to get a copy of issue one, even though they are sold out. I learned something new from each issue. It's really something else. There's not a whole lot of ads, so you're not forced thumbing through pagings trying to find the continuation of an article, and you don't have some big goofy ad in the middle of an article to distract you either. Ad's are placed with the idea of the reader in mind. This magazine is amazing. I can't wait until issue 3. I really enjoy this magazine, and I will be a diehard reader.
Since copies are only $6, it's well worth it, and not much at all. How much do you spend on bb's a month? If you can't afford this magazine, then maybe you should rethink your budgeting. It's great for seasoned veterans and new players alike. I highly suggest picking up a copy, now!
