: I went to chobham for my first skirmish on the 2nd july 2006.

On this day another 133 people turned up, might have been a record, im not sure. Anyway it was a brilliant day.

The marshals are great, talkative, lively and kind. They dont take alot of #### from anyone, so you have to be good.(lol)

The site itself is medium size, with good scenarios and lots of bollards and masses of woodland.

The lunch was quite good, and they offer 3 diffeerent choices i think.

It was a great day and i would happily return any day.(Bring water in summer!!!!)

When I saw the Ambush Adventures sign on the side of the road, my heart beated like a m249 at full auto.
The site has a fairly large parking situated about 60-80m from the safezone. Upon entering I immediately placed my kit on an empty table, and registered which was a hastle free process.
As I inspected my kit, I saw the variety of players participating in the open day. There were a couple of groups of rentals, and also a large number of walk-on players, either chatting or checking kit.
I asked a marshal when our guns get chronoed and he said it would be done as the day goes on...

The first game was a simple elimination game for the rentals to get used to their guns. Both teams headed outside the safezone into the small woods, where each team started out on opposite sides of the wood. Rather simple stuff, and after the first round we swapped ends.

After each game theres a break, and the following games started to become more complex with more objectives, including a massive three phase game which spanned the entire site, which is divided by a stream. Just outside the safezone are the small woods, then on the left is the village with 7 buildings and numerous barricades. Then theres the stream which can be crossed by 4 bridges which lead to the large wood, and in the middle of that is an open are with a two-storey fort, small bunkers, a killing house and...a tank. Barricades are dotted throughout the site too. The size of the site means players can get to their starting positions quickly to begin the game, or head to their regen point. The terrain is flat, so no hills to climb.

In all, the site in excellent(the food too). But no chrono? Surely somebody can bring a gun over 326fps then? THe only other negative aspect I have about the site is the fact that the buildings seem a bit artificial(buildings aren't that realistic, and one barricade as made of a tesco poster) but in the end, its not that important.

Well this was the first site I ever went to and found it was great as its not the big site but there’s enough space to hide in events.

I know its not a big thing not having a lot of tables but its better then having to lay your stuff on the ground which I can say you wont have to do here.

If you are a newbie the guys at the site will help you out and answer any questions you may have also unlike some sites you can also have a laugh with them as well.

Car park its alright in size but trying to get to the car park and site can be a little confusing for first timers.

Bad things I can think of is no chronograph as I have got a little worried on open days that some peoples equipment fires at 350 fps and above. The food is ok but a lot of my friends have complained when we have gone up about the food being boring but that’s them in my view the food is alright as I always go up for seconds.

But all in all a great site but just needs a slight bit of tweaking. I would recommend for newbie’s.
