The main reason I purchased this item was in order to replace the stock G Spec cylinder head. Anyone familiar with the VSR Series will know that the cylinders come sealed, and a pin must be drilled in order to remove the cylinder head and allow access to the parts inside.
Unfortunately, this means that the seal between cylinder head and cylinder can be poor. (Some material from the cylinder head must be lost in order to completely remove the pin) This cylinder head can aid in balancing out the power loss.
In addition, the PSS10 cylinder head is stronger. It also has design improvements over the stock item, allowing better airflow, with reports of an increase in power coming as a result. The addition of two indents lets you more easily unscrew the cylinder head also.
Whilst quite pricey for an individual part, it fills the role of a reliable cylinder head when upgrading your G Spec fully.
As a side note, there have been reports of this particular cylinder head not always fitting the stock G Spec cylinder. Apparently at some point along the production of the VSR series, Tokyo Marui changed the pitch of the threading within the cylinder. While I personally did not have any issues fitting it to either the stock cylinder or the PSS10 teflon cylinder, I have read reports of players encountering fitting issues.
Something to bear in mind if you are not upgrading the cylinder at the same time as the cylinder head.
