Pros: Comfort, Weight, Grip shouldn't collect BBs
Cons: Cost

Well, just to start off by saying, I've not worn these at an airsoft event yet, but I did wear them for pretty much 3-days straight at another event that had me on my feet all day.

Now, specific details. I bought these when I was on holiday in florida, and I've no idea where you could get them in the UK. It was an Oakley outlet store anyway. Also, the version I bought aren't the same as the "genuine issue" ones, which were selling for $130 ($175 online), but are exactly the same appart from the colour. If you want black or sand, you're gonna have to get the more expensive ones.

They're really comfortable, and fit well, though they are quite long for their width, maybe my feet are short, I dont know. Inside they're well padded, and feel just like trainers, just with added ankle support.

The outer is leather, and they're waterproof, so long as they're done up properly.

Appart from the price, theres nothing not to recommend them.

Pros:
Cons:

I have owned a pair of desert SI's for about 3 months now. Bought from Polimil due to the price at the time (£65 from rrp of £180) i had intended to have them as a replacement for my aging old boots for airsofting.

Within a week or so of getting them, they had become not only my footwear for airsoft, but also everyday as they are that comfy !

So far they have performed excellently. They are extremely comfortable for skirmishing, providing a good level of support and grip. They also seem quite tough, though i have noticed some wear to the rear of the heel treads.

I have also noticed that parts of the rubber outer sole have started to peel off slightly but they still remain almost untouched despite the punishment they have recieved while being worn over the last 3 months.

All in all, if you want a nice comfy pair of dessie boots that you can get away with wearing everyday too these will fit the role nicely.

Pros: N/A
Cons: bad quality leather

I have the 8in higher leg version of the boot, which I have had for about 5hrs, and all I can say is I, wasted my money.

Firstly the boot is very comfy and looks good but as soon as I laced them up the second row from the top of lacing hole where ripped out from the leather.
The laces should snap before the lacing hole rip out of the leather. But that is my opinion I brought these for CQB use and if they fall apart from just getting laced up I have no idea how they would coupe with a full day of skirmishing in and round buildings.

I would recommend look at other brands and steer clear of the SI's 8in boot as they are not worth the money.

Edit: I have just received a new pair of boots as they were under the warranty and so far so good they have not fallen apart yet and I hope they don’t. There will be an up date after I have put them through their paces.

So far the new boots have been good very comfy and were not to bad in the wet muddy conditions of the woodland site I went to. If you do get these boots they must be warn with two pairs of good thick socks. My opinion on the boots has gone up but I’m still considering getting another pair of boots that I know will last the long haul.

Pros: Closeout Deal!
Cons:

These are the Oakley S.I. Assault Boot 6" in Desert Tan. These were on sale on closeout at Spotsmansguide.com for $49.97 a pair.

http://www.digitalwastelands.com/bbimages/airsoft/oakley/siboots-04a.jpg

These are a lower cut then the original Assault Boots at 6" and are also made from a different mix of materials then the mostly leather originals. These are made of ballistic nylon mesh with suede reinforcements on the upper, but have the original all weather polymer sole.

Pros: Very comfy, feet don't sweat as much, look cool
Cons:

Got the boots from UK tactical, and after wearing them in these boots are comfortable to wear and have good grip. I chose the boots to replace my everyday footwear (still using magnum classic for skirmishing) and so far I don't have anything to complain about after a week and a half of wearing them everyday. Good quality and much cheaper than the last boots I had (North Face ~£100)

I expect these boots to last a while.

Pros: comfy, superp grip on gravel, no need for walk in.
Cons: squeeky as hell on wet tiles.

i have had these boots for a year or two and all i can say is that this is the boots i want for the rest of my life.

i found these in my favorite military shop in sweden by accident. i was looking around in there outlet part of the store and just as i was about to leave i saw these behind the counter. and asked if i could try them on.

i took a pair with my regulary shoe size and sliped my foot in and that was it...i fell in love with then there and then.
they are comfy as a sneaker and grips your foot like snowboardboots.

the next day i wore them all day long and took some off road hiking to see hor they worked in the field. first off i noticed that you realy dont have to walk them in, not realy anyway. and on a gravelroad i have never experienced such a grip in my life. the only downside i have experienced is that they are not great in a very rocky landscape becouse of there lack of ankel support and that they squeek as hell on wet tiles.

one little detail thet set these boots apart from so many others are the lases. the end of them look and feel like some form of bead neckless so the wory that the not will be undone in the field is slim to none.

Pros: Comfort, Durability
Cons: No metal eyelets

I bought a pair of these 5 years ago and they are still going strong. I have taken them to numerous skirmishes and camping trips at a near by forest.

The last time my friends and I were out it rained heavily all night, and the ground was a complete marsh. My feet were the only part of me that was dry!

Another great feature is the grip - I have never had a pair of boots where you feel as comfortable walking over slippery surfaces, like wet logs and rocks. Lots of feedback from the ground below, along with high grip levels.

My only gripe is there are no eyelets - lacing up seems a little flimsy and doesn't give you the most confidence, but I have not had any problems with torn leather yet.

I love these boots, will definately get another pair when they eventually let go.
