Pros: Nice! Very nice!
Cons: dodgy hop chamber

G&P

These are basically one of the cheapest metal bodies on the market – so me being the tight ass that I am decided to have a look at em during a recent trip to WGC. They retail them for about US$100 which makes adding the final touch to any pimp’d AEG pretty affordable.

Well you open the box of these things and they are just unbelievable. A beautiful aluminum body wearing mat black – my favorite! G&P have included all little bits and pieces required to fit the body, however you will need more than a gearbox from your M4 when fitting. Fitting takes some knowledge of AEGs and although G&P have included some decent pictures in their fitment guide you do need to guess a little. The only problem I had when fitting my new body to my m4 was attaching the front barrel – the threading on the ring that keeps the barrel in place was very tight.

Apart from adding a smidget or weight and improving the looks of your weapon the metal body doesn’t actually improve the performance of your AEG – in fact I found that my fps performance dropped from 280 to 240 by installing the body. This is probably due to the inferior performing G&P hop-up unit that needs to be installed with the metal body. I have not at this stage been able to isolate the actual cause of the fps drop but suspect that the seal between the air nozzle and the hop chamber leaks. The best solution to this problem is to simply buy a decent quality hop chamber such as those offered by Systema or other reputable manufacturers.

All in all this metal body is brilliant. It fits the AEG without all the problems of other cheapo kits and looks brilliant.
