Positive aspects of the product (pros): Good range of products, cheap postage
Negative aspects of the product (cons): Lots of things out of stock, bad customer service, not cheap prices

I ordered from AirsoftScotland about a month ago now. My review is mainly based about the fiasco with this order.

I ordered some CO2 bulbs and some fogtech from them on Thursday morning. I selected next day delivery because I needed the products by the weekend. They do say that they cannot guarantee that products will arrive the next day because they don't own Royal Mail.

My order didn't arrive the next day at all so I rung up to ask them what had happened. What they said was that even though I had placed the order in the morning, they had not actually managed to collect the two products I had ordered together before the courier came at 4.30 or something. I thought 'thats pretty poor: it shouldn't take 5 hours to collect two products together'.

I chose to cancel the order as I had needed them for the weekend and they weren't of much use to me after that. AirsoftScotland said that this was fine and they said that they would refund the £31 to my credit card.
I am contented, but certainly not happy.

1 month later......
The credit card bill comes through and there is a charge of £31 credited to my card to AirsoftScotland. Now, this is completely ridiculous.
Firstly, they fail to do what they say they can do. Then, I ring up and get absolutely no cooperationm at all and then when I finally explain that I want to cancel the order, they don't refund me.

The products obviously never arrived. I am sure AirsoftScotland could manage to do that as it is in their interests.

So, because of this, I give them a very poor customer service and if there was an option for how liklely you are to get scammed, I would choose a high number.

However, taking this order aside, their online store does have a good range of products, apart from the fact that half of them seem to be out of stock the whole time. Their store at the War and Peace show was actually quite pleasant to be in. They seemed to be willing to help.

I get the impression that they are very happy to be genial and helpful when you haven't made the order(to attract you) but as soon as they have your money, they will not cooperate at all and do anything they can to keep it.

I think I will stick to Zeroone and overseas retailers from now on. I suggest that you look carefully at the other options before ordering from AirsoftScotland.

Cheers.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Fast shipping
Negative aspects of the product (cons): None

Ordered: 1 pack of 8 MAG midcaps for M4/M16

A little expensive for this item compared to some other UK retailers, but received next-day delivery. I only give an 8 for customer service only because I dont know how good they are...I never had to deal with them.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Good prices, good advice and peace to browse.
Negative aspects of the product (cons): Stock levels rather wayward for some things, slow response to email.

I'm a 30-40 minute drive away from Airsoft Scotland, so haven't used their mail delivery service. On visiting, I've found the staff freindly and helpful - always ready to answer my newbie questions, show me stuff, and tell me about other stuff that I didn't know about or hadn't thought of. And there's no high-pressure selling - if I want to browse, I'm left to get on with it, which suits me just fine.

Being new to airsoft, I've been doing a *lot* of online window shopping and price-checking. Overall, it seems to me that Airsoft Scotland's prices are amongst the best in the UK. Only one or two other retailers get close for stuff like guns and tactical gear.

My only real criticism is that they can be out of stock of things, as a look at their web site will show. For me, there are too many things listed which have 'out of stock' next to them. I suppose this is a particular gripe for me because I'm local and like to go and try stuff before I buy, and it can be annoying to see the thing I want on the site, decide on visiting to check it out, and then notice that they don't actually have it. On balance, however, they do seem to have a wide range of stuff in stock - the shop is by no means empty. If anything, it's pretty-much crammed.

A secondary criticism is that response to email enquiries is rather slow - a few days is too long in my book. One or two would be fine.

There's no dedicated parking, but the place is in a village which isn't busy - the shop is on the main street, which is no parking, but I've always been able to park in a side street within 50m or so of the shop.

There's no firing range out the back, but there is a shop target that you can plink at.

They have a repair/upgrade facility, but I haven't had a need to make use of that, and it's unlikely that I will, being sufficiently mechanically skilled to do my own work. In spite of this, they're helpful with advice of a techie nature - they don't clam up at the thought that I won't be buying tech service from them.

When I bought my Dark Hawk pistol from them, I had a slide jam issue a few days after I got it. I might have missed a bit when I first lubed it and had since relubricated it. However, I wasn't sure if the problem had been remedied, so took it with me on a subsequent visit. One of the staff was happy to empty several mags worth of BBs at the shop target to check the gun out. The problem didn't resurface, and hasen't since (ie, no work was required and the gun has been great).

My overall impression is that the service is very good, the prices are excellent, as is the banter from the staff. The fact that they're fairly local is a big plus for me. If they have what I want in stock, they'll get my business virtually every time.

I'm surprised that their rating here is so low - seems to me that an order went wrong for someone (it happens, you know!) and that maybe his review is a little harsh. My impression after a few visits to the bricks-and-mortar, and meeting the real humans behind the web site, is that they desrve far better than that.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Customer service, friendly, stock some unusual items
Negative aspects of the product (cons): Very low stock levels

Suprised at the low rating this store has gotten, I've spent nearly £600 at AirsoftScotland over three years and never had any trouble. They have communicated well (Always use the phone rather than email unless the retailer is international!) and even unpacked and changed an order for me at the last minute.

The bad part is simply in that they possibly have the least stock on hand for any of the major UK retailers. Almost every other product is out of stock although it's good that they don't hide the fact unlike some retailers.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Nice price range, easy to use shop, nice people running it, nice product range,
Negative aspects of the product (cons): takes about 1-2 days before the reply to customer inquireies, too many out of stock products :(

hey there,
these guys arent actually that bad their customer service could be better but remember that these are real people who work there with real lifes so there might be *complications* from time to time,
they sell their pyros at a remarkable good price evendo you need to select special couriur service if u order pyro's from them which is 7 pounds,
also they have a good range of bb's at good prices :D
overall an ok shop if you have a timelimit i wouldnt buy from them as there might be stuff you orderd out of stock and their customer service might not get back to you in time.
cheers

Positive aspects of the product (pros): They ring
Negative aspects of the product (cons): Nearly everything

I made a order on monday evening for five items, all of which were in stock.

I got an email on thursday telling me that one of the items was out of stock. Phoned them up to be told the rest of the order was still in stock. Phone call from them on friday morning telling me that another item was out, and they wouldn`t be getting any for 2+ weeks.

Finally got the refund over 2 weeks from ordering and only because of emailing them to complain.

Decided to cancel the whole order and told the paypal payment would be refunded, which apprently takes 4 -5 days :S Hopefully this is the case.

Conclusion: I won`t be ordering from them again and I wouldn`t recommend my mates to do so. Customer service is good but what counts is getting the items without the hassle.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Excellent product range. Fast (& cheap) shipping. Good advice
Negative aspects of the product (cons): None so far!

I've now dealt with these guy three times. Both the internet orders arrived swiftly and were well packed. I was fortunate enough to be able to visit the shop a few weeks ago where I recieved lots of advice and information before making my purchase. Why shop anywhere else?

Update October 2007:
Wasn't happy with the A&K M249 I bought, frankly this was my own error, but it was swapped without any fuss. Not only that, but I was shown several guns before making my choice. Again, very good service.

Update Feb 2009:
Dealt with these guys several more times since my initial review. Only one minor problem (item missed from order) which was swiftly resolved. By far my favourite retailer.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Relitavley cheap products
Negative aspects of the product (cons): No interest in after market service

Having placed an order for a KA shower grenade on the Monday and received the conformation email everything seemed fine. Next day no grenade turned up but I gave them the benifit of the doubt and waited till the Friday. They told me that they had sent an email letting me know that the grenades were out of stock which I never received. I was then informed that they would re-emburse me through pay-pal the next day.

FOUR MONTHS LATER and a lage amount of phone calls I finally manage to speek to a bloke who was really apologetic ( instead of one of two airhead females over the past months) and transfered the money within half an hour. Why the frick couldn't the bimbo's have done that. It seems to me to be a bit of a sham that they received the retailer of the year from Airsoft World.

After (or nearly) markets service is most definately lacking with this reatailer.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): good website, decent prices
Negative aspects of the product (cons): awful customer service, rude and inability to answer emails

Well I'm never using them again

It started off so well too. I was after some 9mm blanks but they were out of stock, so I emailed asking when they'd be in stock. To my suprise I got a text message to my mobile that evening saying something to the effect: "have just put one box of 9mm blanks up on the website but do be quick"

I ordered a load of stuff in the next day (10th of July), most of it was for the Skirmish club/business, £220 worth of stuff! A few days later I then got told the grenades I ordered in were out of stock and could I wait a week (I could).

A week later I emailed to ask what was going on. I then got told the grenades were in stock but everything else on my order was now out of stock! As the days passed I emailed and phoned until I eventually got someone to send out the grenades I badly needed for the next game, they arrived on the 3rd of August with the 9mm blanks but that was it.

I've emailed several times to ask what was happening with the rest of the order, their website has shown the items to be in stock but I don't even get a reply using the standard email address, last email I'd recieved was dated 31st July. I sent an email every few days asking what was going on - I wasn't desperate for the stuff, assumed they were quite busy. After 4 weeks of no response to my emails I decided to send an email every day for a week because I felt like being pedantic! Surely someone was reading the emails?! Friday I emailed a different email address I had from them, a "Stephen Madley" who replied the same day and had this charming response:
Quote:
Why don't you try the phone?!

I expalined to him that I was still missing items and wanted to know when they were going to arrive.

Saturday I recieved NO email back, however I had an email from worldpay stating I had been issued a refund! Nice, I didn't actually want a refund, I wanted the stuff I'd paid for!

So congratulations to Airsoft World/Scotland for having THE WORST customer serivce. Make you wonder how they got "Airsoft International UK Retailer" award!!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great prices and service
Negative aspects of the product (cons): Lots of "out of stock" and fewer products than most

I purchased a Jing Gong m4-a1 Carbine from Airsoft Scotland, it developed a problem after firing 6 magazines, so I phoned up, and got through to the illusive "technitian" and they couldn't have been more helpful, for no charge, they have arranged a courier to pick the gun up, to be transported down to their shop, and are going to fix the probelm and send it back at thier own expence.

Could not recomend them more for their clone line.

BIG EDIT!

Reported fault with Jing Gong M4, not picked up, recieved another poor blokes D-boys M4 CQB SD!

What a polarva!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great when you go into the shop.
Negative aspects of the product (cons): OUT OF STOCK, Dont open online orders for up to a week, Bad at emails etc, They unplug thier landline phones, bitch at people for trying to phone them on ascuk forums. Shall i go on ?

Ok, SO you place an order online on the sunday night, You expect the shop to go in on monday morniung and open up their computer t see what online orders they have right ? well they didnt open my online order for a whole week - yes thats right. Fianly on friday night i got an email saying they had received my order, and it will be getting processed. On tuesday i get an email saying the items i had ordered are out of stock and would i like them to wait until they come into stock. I decline and ask for a refund.
-----------------------

When people on the ascuk forums post queries about products and about how the phone lines are engaged 24/7 ( no joke) or that there emails have not been replied to. they get bitched at by the airsoftscotland customer service team that they are to busy and telling people to stop phoning the store to ask about their orders. BLAH shall i go on ?

WORST RETAILER ON THE YEAR. HOW THE HELL DID THEY GET THE BEST RETAILER ??????

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Good looking website
Negative aspects of the product (cons): No customer service or communication

I placed an order with Airsoft Scotland (Airsoft World) on Friday the 21st September 2007 at 1220hrs. I ordered several items which their website said was in stock. I paid for UK Mainland next day courier delivery as I hoped to use the items for an upcoming skirmish.

I received a confirmation of order email from them and thought that all was well.

On Monday I waited expectantly for my order to turn up. Nothing....

I tried to phone them on Tuesday and was met by an answering machine that informed me they were busy and asked me NOT to leave any messages as they would not respond. This answering machine and I have become very close over the last week and a half as I listen to the same message about 5 or 6 times a day. I have tried ringing their Warehouse number as well and it is perpetually engaged. In the meantime I have sent emails requesting my order status using their online form and also replying to their order confirmation email. I have had no reply or response at all.

Today I did manage to get through once on the warehouse telephone number and spoke to a guy who said that one of my order items was out of stock and that he couldn't tell me anything more. He would get Michelle to contact me asap. I am still waiting and I cannot get back in touch with them on any of their numbers again.

I know that with the changes here in the UK Law the retail community must be under a certain amount of pressure. However, a little bit oc customer service never hurt anyone. How Airsoft World was named as Retailer of the Year 2007 by AI is beyond me. The sad fact is that they have been very quick to take the payment out of my bank account but I now have no way of contacting them or finding out what is happening with my order. This will definately be my last transaction with them.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Good range, Cheap, Quick Delivery
Negative aspects of the product (cons): Nothing

Being a complete newbie to Airsoft I am relegated to buying two-tone guns. After a bit of searching I stumbled upon Airsoft Scotland, who had a wide range of guns at good prices.

I ordered from them via the magic of the interweb last Thursday morning and received everything yesterday (the following Monday) two working days.

No troubles, no trauma, just clicked, paid, and received the stuff. Painless.

The reason I bought from these guys over other sites was the tone of the website itself, funny and relaxed, it seemed that whoever had written the copy for the products was a guy who enjoyed the sport himself and sold guns on the side.

Very happy.

A few other reviews have commented on the lack of stock through their website. I must admit I came across this too, for instance I bought the JG G36c but they didn't have any spare mags available. The simple solution was to go to ActionHobbys.co.uk who stock the same guns, and I believe are partners with Airsoft Scotland.

Between the two websites I found everything I needed and enjoyed the same hassle-free experience with both.

I will certainly be buying from them again.
