Well, this game has been thoroughly reviewed by pretty much every place that reviews video games. If you don't know any places that review video games, this won't really matter to you anyways. I'll try to keep this short.
First, there are two versions of this game, one is the limited collector's edition which includes a lot of extra non-gameplay stuff, and it auctions up to more than $100 a copy. The standard (non-limited) edition includes two discs. The first disc is pretty much MGS 3: Snake Eater with the new camera control, and Disc 2 has the new multiplayer game and the two original Metal Gear games (not Metal Gear Solid).
The main game is the same as Snake Eater with the addition of the new free camera angle. For this feature alone, the game is worth the price tag. If you don't know what Snake Eater's story is, it's simply THE best video game story to date, and features some crazy cold war conspiracy and "advanced" weaponary. Don't want to spoil anything, but if you must know, google or PM me about it.
Haven't really played the second disc, so can't really comment on that.
The real question here is why might airsofters be interested in this? The answer is obivious, it has some of the most realistic weapon and loadout models in a video game (excluding PC games), and the graphic is top notch, so you can see the 1911 down the iron sight. If that's not convincing enough, a normal dialog in the game would go like this,
"The feeding ramp is polished to a mirror sheen. The slide's been reinforced. And the interlock with the frame is tightened for added precision. The sight system is original, too. The thumb safety is extended to make it easier on the finger. A long-type trigger with non-slip grooves. A ring hammer... The base of the trigger guard's been filed down for a higher grip. And not only that, nearly every part of this gun has been expertly crafted and customized."

The storyline is one of the best!

Cons:

The AI is so much more advanced than on the other two games, can be tricky to get used to

I only have snake eater (not subsistence), but its basically the same thing (just a few add-ons), and theres no point in making a diff review for basically the same thing!
I have got to agree, this game is awesome, and the storyline is one of the best. It just wraps everyone up to do with the metal gear series, and i loved it.
I have noticed that the AI has slowly been improving, i havent played the originals on NES, but MGS 1, the quards were pretty stupid (still an awesome game tho!), then they got harder on MGS 2, but on snake eater they can be quite hard to get past.
Anyway, to conclude, this is an awesome game i would deffinetly recommend it!
