Positive aspects of the product (pros): Interesting alteration of the classic PLCE beltkit, not just in DPM pattern
Cons: Not modular, lack of proper webbing belt at rear for more pouches

I'll put the boring pouch details at the end, first off, here's my take on the rig:

It's a PLCE beltkit, isn't it? Arktis have looked at PLCE, tinkered with it a little, and to be honest, not really improved it very much. My main gripe is obvious; it's not modular.

I've not used modular gear myself (/beaten round the head by the rest of you), but even PLCE has a degree of adjustability. The rig claims that the rear belt allows you to attach more pouches if you wish, perhaps the famous Arktis triple-utility, or a big Rhodesian pouch. But this is rubbish. The belt isn't a PLCE belt, so it doesn't have the slits for the pouch to slot on properly, which means anything you hang back there is going to bounce around like bally-ho. So you're stuck with what Arktis give you.

And what do Arktis give you? 2 x triple mag-pouches, 2 x grenade pouches, 2 x small pouches, 2 x FFD pouches and 2 x utility pouches (plus some pockets, both front and side). The small pouches could hold M9 mags perhaps (I reckon 3, maybe 4 apiece), while the FFD pouches are only good for what they describe. So you're not talking long-term replenishment without some kind of daysack. The big utility pouches will hold a canteen nicely. Behind the utility pouches are little open pockets, that you can slip things into, and you can unclip the strap from the small pouch and attach it to a female buckle inside the pocket to tether the whole thing down. I use these 'pockets' for quick storage, though anything that goes in them could just as easily fall out again. And the grenade pouches might as well be called grenade ejection-seats Nah!

The rig is nicely adjustable, and has D-rings, clip-hooks, stitched in LBE bands and press-stud fixtures all over it. Some may call this clutter, I call it more room to hang things off B) The basis of the rig is the Arktis yoke though, which you could buy separately and use with a beltkit anyway. Another advantage of being Arktis is pattern variation. You could get one of these in US Woodland if you asked nice enough Wink

In the end, it's £95 for a slimline PLCE kit. It's good for fighting light (with the small pouches allowing quicker access than mucking about in a utility pouch), but if you plan on lugging gear about, you might as well stick to the original. My main gripe is that floppy belt at the rear. If it was slotted for PLCE, I could slap two water-bottle pouches on and I'd be laughing. In summary, the Norloose rig is alright for a days activity, in conjuction with a small ruck, but if you plan on carrying lots of gear, get something bigger.

"Well I've had a word with Joe, and he says instead of making a cable and sending a signal for my TAT B's, I can do a jump into a DZ from 600-metres with an Epson printer-scanner on my back, and then tab 10 miles over undulating terrain, at night, to unlock an officer's user account after he got the password wrong three times."
