Lincolnshire’s premier Airsoft site. Lindsey Airsoft is situated on an 80 acre site just outside the village of Manby.
Games are staged about once a month, they vary from all day MILSIM events to several skirmishes staged in within the 8 or so hours that the site operates. The site describes itself as a battlefield simulation and it is very much that. The entire ground is covered in craters, hills and numerous kinds of terrain with a compound with observation tower located in the middle. With all the harsh terrain you may want to commandeer a Bedford 4 ton truck or Jeep to get around in.
The day begins with people kitting up, signing in, buying pyrotechnics for a very reasonable price and teams being picked. From there, the game begins, often the opposing team could be right at your base as you just get round to posting sentries. Games include attacking/defending the enemies/your base, conquering the centre ground, ambushing convoys and taking hostages. If you come along to a MILSIM day, there will just be one objective but a lot of smaller skirmishes will be intertwined.
The site and event are well managed. The grounds really resemble a war torn environment, not just a mass of trees which is what several other sites I’ve used before resemble. The staff and regulars are very friendly and welcoming, the phrase ‘the more the merrier’ really does apply here. One of things which makes the site stand out is the community feeling, everyone is eager to get involved and to try out other people’s weapons and kit, you get people that are dedicated to the game with many being ex military. Another thing that sets the site aside from others is the massive use of on site pyrotechnics. Fireballs and and loud airbased explosions are not uncommon!
Prices are very reasonable with Thunderflashes, smokes, frags and stun grenades available at competative prices and entrance being £20. Hire guns, ammunition, batteries, combat kit and other fancy additions are available for purchase. I would say the only downsides are often there is no catering facilities at the site, although a buger fan does sometimes make a visit. Toilet facilities are next door to the safe zone so no long trecks any more.
To sum up, Lindsey Airsoft is a top site. The staff are well trained, the regulars are welcoming and no matter what you ability is, you are well catered for. Prices are kept to a minimum and few people leave not feeling satisfied.
